A great choice of an Alliance PvE weapon, behind by .1 to Justicebringer (Heroic). A jump of 26 weapon dps from the nonheroic version and a modest stat increase make it a very sought after upgrade for any class that can use it, and will beat out 10 man Icecrown weapons (but not 25 man) through raw stats.

Some comparisons:
.1 dps under all Relentless Gladiator high tier 2h melee weapons
~20.2 dps over weapons from 10 man Icecrown Citadel
~23.0 dps under weapons from 25 man Icecrown Citadel

I find it funny that the Archon Glaive and the Fordragon blades are in a sense the same weapon, share mostly the same stats, and most importantly..... drop from the same boss!

I'll just compare the two real quick with their 25 man stats. Fordragon has 2 more stam, while the Archon has 19 more agility. Archon has a red and yellow socket with attack power bonus while fordragon has double red with a armor pen bonus. Archon has 53 more attack power, Fordragon has 3 more armor pen, and archon has crit rating while fordragon has haste. For hunters either one is awesome (depending if your marks or surv or god forbid BM) but what sepatates the two greatest is the damage they do.

Archon comes in at 788-1183 (281.6dps) while the Fordragon comes in at 714-1074 (255.6dps). This makes archon the superior of the two for Melee, but for hunters they are rather close.

It really goes to show how a small difference in item level can affect stats (archon is ilvl 258 while fordragon is 245, a 13 lvl difference!)

My say is on this if both drop (god forbid) let the melee take it unless the hunter could use it more while the hunter takes fordragon. and this is comming FROM a hunter btw.

it should be noted that this is the best DK tanking weapon in the game right now. With 1.5k health, more than 1% of dodge (i think more like 1.2%) and two sockets.

For mitigation, Decimation would provide the same amount of dodge while affording more stamina, albeit with a bit less top end.

However, that small discrepancy aside, there's nothing particularly wrong with him saying that a weapon is the BiS item for a certain role. Saying that doesn't necessarily mean that it should ONLY go to that class, or that it's not the BiS for another class. He's merely stating his opinion on the relevancy of an item for a certain class, and didn't say anything on whether or not death knights should get it first over other classes.

Just got this last night on my druid. The difference between this and the ilvl 245 version is night and day. It is an absolutely HUGE upgrade. For all you ferals out there who are happy with the ilvl 245 version, just wait until you get this!
