got it today, if you press the ability you can see it has a 10% pro chance. I did some minor testing on it and it seems to have a hidden cooldown, i would guess at maybe 40-50 second.
It did proc off chainhealing myself, so i guess the proc will be 40% for resto shamans spamming chain heal and 60% for priests and druids using CoH and WG(not confirmed tho)

For a Shaman using glyphed Chain Heal:
Internal CD assumed to be 50 seconds
Proc chance assumed to be 35% (3 heals to proc this effect after 50 seconds)
50 + 3 * (2.5) = 57.5 seconds (Assumed 60 sconds for simplicity)

1 ppm (proc per minute)
= (176/5) * 15 mana returned per minute
= 528 mana returned per minute
= 528/60 mana returned per second
= 8.8 mana returned per second
= 8.8 * 5 mana returned per five seconds
= 44 mana returned per five seconds
= 44 mp5

TL;DR This trinket equals roughly 73 Haste (2.23%) & 44 mp5

While everyone seems to consider this a healing trinket, it's actually not too shabby for any caster (since its MP5 rather than spirit and procs of any spell). Depends on how long bosses are taking and how much you are affected by mana issues.

According to my wws reports for longer fights, I average at 56 mp5 with this trinket, even at the esstimated 44 mp5, this trinket is pretty overpowered :)

Being shaman it also procs if you cast ghost wolf, great for pvp if you need some extra mana while you run to your target.

As of patch 3.0.8, this trinket will now proc only off healing or damage spells, this means it can no longer proc off things like Inner Fire, Ghost Wolf, casting buffs, etc.

not just Boomkins, this is also incredible for Ele shammies . Usign chain lightning is a mana intensive rotation , it improves your dps slightly but is is worth adding in your rotation and this trink gives haste which is also a major and i do mean major ele shammy stat .This coupled with the change in mana mechanics in the next patch and this trink does prove to be very valuable.

For Disc Priests and Resto Druids, I'd count the Bell as being the superior trinket. But for Resto shamans and maybe paladins, this is arguably a best in slot trinket, over much of what drops in Naxx. Here's my reasoning.

I play a Resto Shaman in <Undivided> on Laughing Skull. I've noticed a few things: #1. My performance in the raid depends on how long I can sustain my chain heal spam, more than anything. When I regemmed for more intellect and went to jewelcrafting (primarily for the Figurine- Sapphire Owl). That bumped me up to 25.8k mana raid buffed. The other important note for a resto shammy (#2) is that consistently, regardless of the fight, my overhealing sits at around 40% (which is about as good as any resto shaman achieves in a 6 healer environment).

What that 40% says to me is that spell power is not my primary concern- it does a great job at increasing your overhealing. Instead, I'd like to see myself with more haste (by haste rating) and effective mana (by mp5, a larger mana pool, and by burst mana restores, such as insightful earthstorm diamond), for more chain heals for a longer amount of time.

Considering the above, I rate the bell as a worse trinket than the spark, because the spell power will have a diminished increase in healing done (because it'll mean bigger chain heals that do the job as it is), while the haste rating progresses me towards achievement that goal: very fast chain heals spanning the duration of an encounter.

Paladins might be a different story because they're often assigned to healing the main tank, so bigger heals are important. However, I think the observation for paladins is that their gearing should be close to an elemental shammy's- haste and crit. 3.1 may change that on account of changes to mana regen mechanics (most profoundly affecting healers). It sounds like a nerfbus all around, with Resto Shammies taking the smallest hit (if the mechanics changes even effect them).

Like most chance-on-cast proc effects from trinkets, this one's got a 1-min Cooldown from the moment it triggers, or a 45sec Cooldown from the point where the buff wears off with a 10% proc chance once ready

Question:

Since 3.3 came out, haste became important status for most casters, including healers.

And since there are not much Haste/MP5 trinket around, does this trinket fare better than Je'Tze's Bell & Talisman of Resurgence in raid situation (despite being an iLvl 200 blue)? Has anyone tested this on ICC raids?

I'm a Resto Shaman btw.

I think everyone over thought this. With a 45 sec cooldown being sort of standard and the effect having a 10% chance most people get to the 1 proc per minute point without any problem.

So 220 mp5 for 15 seconds yeilds 3 ticks or 660 mana. Since were all assuming 1 proc per minute 660mana divided by 60 seconds is 11 mana per second or 55 mp5.

Of course thats the ideal yeild but it should work out exactly that way.

Think about it in simple (programer) terms. With a cooldown of 45 seconds you have 15 seconds of casting with the gcd, or 6 casts, before you blow the ideal yeild. Worst case your a paladin, so you have only 12 heal hits with the target and beacon. At a 10% rate, or 1 in 10 chance that's two more heals than you should need, statisticly, to get a proc.

So keep it simple, 73 haste, and 55 mp5.
