This is the best place to solo farm Felcloth, since the other areas like Felwood are usually overcamped. Dire Maul is also good if you have others with you.

If you are a warlock and have sense demon and the voidwalker out, it can be done in half of the effort of other classes.

Another note of interest, Azshara was named after the Highborne Queen Azshara, who was extremely vain and helped to originally bring the Burning Legion to Azeroth over 10,000 years ago.

Ravencrest Monument here in the region was built in honor of Commander Ravencrest who defended his people against the Burning Legion's first attacks.

This is a very nice place to level and also make a lot of money. For lvl's 50+ you can easily kill the blood elves and demons that are roughly north east of the map. You will find alot of Runecloth and Felcloth. In fact, I found so many Runecloth I used many of them for rep with Undercity :)

A useful faction for here is Timbermaw Hold, take advantage of being nice to them and farm rep in Felwood and Winterspring. Make it so they can not attack you for while in Azshara, you are able to open chests near them, they will not aggro. Don't be afraid of the attack sound, they make it anyway but do not move.

Something interesting to note: as of patch 2.1.3, there is an area in the southwest called "Forlorn Ridge" which is set up suspiciously like a BG staging area. There are Horde banners and a watchtower on the north of the ridge, lining a path which leads to an empty cave. A similar set up is found in the south, with Alliance banners leading to an empty cave. It is worth mentioning that all three current battlegrounds have their entrances set in caves not unlike the ones found in this area. Could this be a future battleground, set in Azshara? Or perhaps an battleground project which Blizzard abandoned?

On blizzcon 2007 it was stated during an Q&A question that they are still not decided if Azshara crater will or will not be added. Developers stated they were still waiting for a good balance with Alterac Valley. A date was not given for a possible addition of the battleground.

i think to get to this place (horde) is from Orgrimmar to Ashenvale.
and i think i saw a bridge leading to Azshara. not sure if im right but this is what i think

It's possible to swim to Azshara from Durotar. Although, if you're just going there for the first time, you'll have to deal with some high level murlocs and hydras between you and the shore.

However, even you die on your way there, I think this route is still better than running all the way around Ashenvale if you don't have the Splintertree Post FP.

i hate this place, esppecially along the coast. its complicated to navigate and theres a lot of guys all over... also for those of you doing the exploration achievment, it says you need to find the jagged reef, i have never seen that and its not in the books or any other maps... anybody know where that is?

For the people fishing here I came at 341 so i could get money for what i fished instead of all that level 5 stuff in Org. I was using https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=25978 so i had 361 fishing basicly. I was still getting

while i had the lure. I don't know how much fishing it is to avoid that but i know you can if its high enough the minimum is somewhere between 361-436 to always catch something in Azhara hope that helps. Happy fishing and Holidays!

For those of you who don't understand what the people posting warnings about being friends with the Timbermaw, (me being one of them) i'd advise you to take great interest in following their warning.

I had no idea what they meant when I first read the comments for this zone, but I do now. I did the quest at the very beginning of felwood from the south and became, 'Unfriendly' with the Timbermaw Faction. Luckly for me, they still don't attack you if you're Unfriendly. I barely managed to scrape through their tunnles. The tunnels are mainly the only thing you need to worry about being friendly with them. You have to pass directly through their tunnels in order to reach Moonglade. Most of the Timbermaw's inside are level 50+, so, me being a 48, i'm extremely glad I didn't get too far on their badside.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

For those who wish to enter Azshara for a winterspring chainquest but can't be bothered trekking along half of northern Kalimdor, you can do the following:

- Fly to Everlook.
- Take the road south Darkwhisper Gorge.
- After the bridge, turn right. You should be able to see a gap in the mountains which is quite well accessible. It even has a short road at top. Rough location is here.
- You're looking down a very deep void now. Jump on the big ring, then jump on the closest hill. It shouldn't take more than half your health.
- Mount up, take a running jump and leap down. Scream 'jeronimoooooo..' for extra points.
- When you release your spirit, it will be at the Spirit Healer in Azshara. Now you can spirit res and walk around Azshara.

It may not be the most economic way of getting there, but its definitely an original and entertaining way.

As you see the blue dragonkin around Lake Mennar, farm them to the right around the lake. When you reach the second platform, where the larger dragonkin are check out behind it, there is a path that leads down to the beach. Here is where you can sell those nicely priced greys, and if your a leather worker is the chance to pick up a couple of the blue dragonscale patterns. Also be aware that the Cliff Dwellers you have passed at the start of the path, I believe also have one of the patterns.

I have a question for everyone that's exaulted with the Timbermaw; does the Timbermaw Hold in Azshara do anything? Also, is it accessible in any way or give any special benefits that could help other players? Like a short cut through Azshara or something? I've seen it on the map and I've been wondering if there's any possible way inside or any NPC to talk to which gives you access, but I haven't found a thing. Could someone enlighten me on this? :\

In the new expansion Cataclysm, Azshara will be retuned to the secondary zone, reducing the level to 10-20.

Azshara is located to the east of Ashenvale. Named after Queen Azshar, the Naga still roam this land. The zone has progressive level increases as you travel to the edges of the land.

There is no ship to Azshara, for either faction. Allies can fly to Astranaar in Ashenvale and go along the path eastbound and end up in Azshara, while Horde can fly to Splintertree Post and follow the path eastbound.

The Ally's FP in Azshara is at Talrendis Point, which is basically right at the start of the zone, slightly to the right of the path.

The Horde's FP in Azshara is at Valormok, which is behind the Haldarr Encampment, close to the mountains.

I swam around the bay for a while and i didnt see a single lockbox thing, can anyone help point me in a better direction. I checked underwater, on land, and pretty much in every nook and crany possible

Report them when you see suspicious (bot-like) behaviour. Getting the banned on a regular basis will minimise their profit and make goldfarming less attractive.

this place is amazing for grinding

at 47 i grinded the ghosts near the alliance fp until i was 53 in hardly any time at all, lots of greens, the occasional blue and a crap load of mageweave.

at 53, started grinding the legashi demons for good XP, nice runecloth, not bad felcloth, great silver, greens, blues, and the rare epic.

the XP i was getting per mob wasnt the BEST, but because the mobs went down so incredibly fast, i was making more XP per hour.

great place for mageweave/runecloth/felcloth/silver/xp

Okay, you go to Ashenvale and take the road east from Splintertree post and follow that as it takes you east, then north past the warsong lumber mill, you then head east across a bridge into Azshara. The flightpath is a little ways in on the left side of the road right before you reach the ruins, look around in that area and you can't miss it. The guy that ports you to the tower is just to the east of the little horde camp.

The old comments about farmers are pretty accurate as to what's happening now. After the recent crackdown it is almost impossible to find anything on AH. I'm glad gameplay is fairer to those of us who choose to get gold on our own, but it almost pales in comparison to the price jumps and item shortages in AH. Can anyone tell me if it's easier to buy Soul Dust from a neutral AH or from your faction now with the lack of farmers?

Indeed, I found a bot there! I started tagging the enemies as he targeted them to get the xp, but eventually he just attacked a bit and continued. Oh well. I thought about pulling one of the elite giants over to him to see if he'd attack it, but I die too quickly.

The Horde flight path, if it isn't defined clearly enough before, is to the north east from the entrance from Ashenvale, north and slightly east of the old ruins where the Satyr are (the pink demons). It's almost against the mountains. Very small, but you can sell, repair, and buy food and drink there at least.

After the patch, you don't need to do any quests to get teleported. GET OFF YOUR MOUNT or he'll disappear, and you have to wait for him to respawn :)

You can take the Horde Zeppelin right out front of The Undercity if you are Alliance. You have to run as far up into the tower as you can and the gaurds will kill you. Travel back from the graveyard and you will be able to go up the stairs with your ghost. Just wait for the first Zeppelin (the lower platform) to come then get on. Then you have to wait until it starts to take off before you ressurect or the gaurds will kill you. When you ressurect and you happen to do it to early and die, do not release your spirit. Just sit on the Zeppelin and you will automatically ressurect when you switch continents. Upon success you will end up in Ogrimmar where you will need to travel north with the river to Azshara. This is a convienant way if you are in the Eastern Kingdoms and have not been to Azshara yet.

You can start doing the first couple quests, that you pick up from the tauren by the flightpath, easily around lvl 45+.

Once again, pretty good place to grind out a good many levels! Good drops, and it's not ever crowded!

this is one of my favorite zones. It's so varied and complicated, sort of like a real life place.

Most zones are flat and boring, but this place has completly different subzones, plus all the naga castles could be like an instance in themselves.

To all who have wondered about the forlorn ridge:

After a long and annoying period of time going all the way around the forlorn ridge and going up every single scalable cliff, I finally found a way in. I was disappointed when I found nothing worth the time it took me to get there. There is no cave(the map lied),nothing to kill, and basically looks like the ruins right next to it (ruins of eldarat i think theyre called). It will probably be something in the future, as blizz wouldnt make something nearly impossible to get to just for show.

In my opinion, this is one of the (if not possible THE) most beautiful areas Blizzard has ever created. The graphic design and detailing of this area is nothing short of amazing. Just such a shame that there is almost no quest content (for alliance anyhow) and that it has no infrastructure. Then again, for grinding and farming crafting materials, you couldn't find a more beautiful place. Great work Blizz! :)

Why would anyone ever go to Azshara to improve their lockpicking skill? Because Blizz told you so through the talent teacher. But don't listen to them because LOCKPICKING SUCKS in Azshara. You get to run to the northernmost part on the map, for what? Maybe one box near 88,41 if you can find it. For the love of everything holy, don't go. Lockpick elsewhere.
Oh, and there's another one on the land near the Temple of Arrokan, or whatever. But I hope you never have to try to find it because you will wind up bashing your head against your keyboard, similar to the way I wrote this post.

comming with this latest patch you have achiv to explore azshara... and if you look at details... you can see what you already discovered by exploring this part of kalimdor... but guess what i cannot find in Azshara : " Shadowsong Shrine " , i ve discovered all places but not this one.... where did blizz put it ? i know all the map and i ve been looking on all wow site's .. nothing about it... already getting tired... of this... blizz made now even exploration kind of tricky to make you lose you re time of course... : /

For anyone stuck in the water off the southern peninsula, who needs to get up on the cliffs, there's a way to get up on the northern side (northern side of the southern peninsula). Look for an "inlet" (not sure the technical term) - not of water, but of sand, on your map. There are several, but there is a larger one south of the word "OF" in "THE BAY OF STORMS" on your map. If you follow that one inland, you can get back up on the top of the cliffs.

I dunno, I've browsed through about a dozen sites looking for information. Am I the only one who has noticed that it's nearly impossible to get into the ruins? I finally just jumped down. Then it's nearly impossible to get back out. The ruins are located along a beach surrounded by what seem to be impassable cliffs.

I don't mind the mobs, and I don't mind the quest, but it surely is hard to get around.

Some fishing information for Azshara

My experience on the Mankrik Classic Server on 10/9/2019

I used 2 x Aquadynamic Fish Attractor and 10 x Bright Baubles
My pole was a Big Iron Fishing Pole +20 fishing (You get from Shellfish Traps in Desolace - 1% or so drop rate)

My fishing skill is 300, so I had 420 skill with Aquadynamic Fish Attractor and 395 with Bright Baubles
I had a rate of around 12% "Your fish got away" messages (didn't have any with the Aquadynamic Fish Attractor equipped)

I am alliance, and did this entire fishing session in Azshara during morning hours (around 7-9:30 am server time)
I fished entirely in Bay of Storms... (made sure I couldn't cast without the fishing lure beforehand - since the bay requires 330 to even cast)

My results:
46 Winter Squid - 16.37%
2 Heavy Crate ( 1 Solid Blasting Powder and 1 Goblin Rocket Fuel )
4 Reinforced Locked Chest
27 Stonescale Eel
129 Darkclaw Lobster
1 7 Pound Lobster
19 Raw Spotted Yellowtail
31 Large Raw Mightfish
22 Big-mouth Clam ( 22 Zesty Clam Meat , 1 Black Pearl , and 1 Golden Pearl )

I fish in the Bay of Storms, Azshara a lot. It's quite peaceful. My usual spot is the island in the middle of the bay where the rare turtle spawns. I fish into the open water, or fish the pools of wreckage, stonescale eels, or elemental water that spawn next to me. most of my casts were into open water, with an Aquadynamic Fish Attractor and Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000.

I have fished at all times of the day, but mostly the afternoon and late night from 1:00PM-3:00AM.
Over the past 2,200 casts in the Bay of Storms, I have caught:

In my opinion, this is by far the best place to farm Winter Squid in the game. There are quite a few junk pools around as well if you are up for some swimming. This is also a decent source of Stonescale Eels, Oily Blackmouth, and Firefin Snapper.
