You need to be at least 3 imo, mobs immune to snare / root, but can be stunned.

2-manned as a resto druid and prot war. the mobs that come out are easy, however any damage will disrupt channeling the fluid. Even from the aura of the big zombies. We had to juggle mobs every other fluid with the druid getting into bear form, also the zombie mobs will randomly drop aggro and run toward the person with the fluid. Very intense to 2-man and not reccomended for the average player. Would be very easy to 3 man tho.

2-manned as Ret Paladin and Prot Paladin. I would recommend 3 or more, though.

I had trouble completing this quest, as trying it with two groups yielded numerous "no valid targets" messages and we gave up. I just spoke to a gm about this, who said, "Ahh you have to do it in the correct order. Much like the statues in ST". I will update with a screenshot and actual completion info if his advice works. Hoep this helps in the meantime though!

I was only able to start this quest at one of the three cauldrons. Twice it said that it was neutralized but it didn't complete.

I checked when I turned the quest in and it appears to only lead to the daily version of the same quest (Neutralizing the Plague).

Works perfectlt no problems, all you need to do is to add fluids in time and not die ^^
(cant be soloed since the fluids have cd needs 3 peps to complete)

I didn't see anyone mention this, so I'll add that you don't need to wait until the cauldron warns you to add more fluid to actually add more fluid. If you do it as soon as the cooldown comes up and you are able to, it becomes a lot less frustrating.

the spinal fluid has a 1min 30sec cooldown, but the quest calls for more fluid 30 seconds into the fight. You need at least three people on the quest in order to complete this.

This helps with mob control, and it actually allows you to complete the quest.

You could solo it, if you had 2 or 3 separate vials of the juice.

You will need, I guess, 3 in group EACH with their own vial.

I tried this several times, Demon Lock with Felguard - got the MoBs I wanted, either 2-25K or 1-65K ghoul. Controlled it/them, but the request to add more CANNOT be done by the SAME player as the request comes in when you have REMAINING 15 to 20 seconds of cool down time.

i tried this quest and quit. I put the into a cauldron and either 8 slimes came out or an elite. I killed them and nothing happened. dont know what to do to complete the quest so i quit it.

All the info here is outdated.
You can not do this solo because of the cooldown on the item (Spinal Fluid which has a cooldown of 1 minute and 30 seconds).
But you can 2 man this on WOTLK Classic easily.

1. Party up with another player that is on the quest and that does also have the quest item (Spinal Fluid).
2. The entrance is the same for the quest where you kill Coprous.
/way 63.4, 62.1.
3. Immediately turn left inside the building and there you will see a big green cauldron.
4. Let player 1 start by using the quest item (Spinal Fluid) near the cauldron. This is a channeled spell.
5. This will trigger some spawns.
6. When spawns come, aggro and kill them, but be sure that player 2 does not get aggro. Because when you are hit by a mob, the channeled spell (from the quest item Spinal Fluid) will be interrupted.
7. You will get a message to SOON add more fluid. After that you will get a message to add fluid NOW. This is the moment that Player 2 will use the quest item (Spinal Fluid) near the cauldron. Do not get hit by mobs while channeling. (Some people report that you can use the item on cooldown instead of waiting foor the NOW message. We did not try to ad the fluid before the warning to add fluid NOW.)
9. When spawns come, tank and kill them, but be sure that player 1 does not get aggro. Because when you are hit by a mob, your channeled spell (from the quest item Spinal Fluid) will be interrupted.
10. You will get a message to SOON add more fluid. After that you will get a message to add fluid NOW. This is the moment that Player 1 will again use the quest item (Spinal Fluid) near the cauldron. Do not get hit by mobs while channeling. (We did not try to ad the fluid before the warning to add fluid NOW.)
11. Rinse and repeat for player 2.
12. Quest completed!

It is impossible to complete this quest solo, the quest item CD is way too long.

Quest is bugged on wotlk classic. The quest asks you to use the item before it is off cd. Bliz either need to increase the time before it fails or lower the quest item cd. Until then it is not completeable.

Excuse the redundancy if others have said so, but as of Dragonflight 10.2 Max Level character (Hunter), I could absolutely solo this. It did take a little while of constantly spamming the vial to cleanse the cauldron, but eventually it finished the quest. Maybe they fixed a bug, but you do not need other people to solo. I hope this helps! Cheers!

The cool-down is now only 30 seconds! If you are doing this as part of The Loremaster achievement and high level it can be solo’d! :)

Description

<Koltira takes the pustulant spines and drains their fluid into a flask.>

A little-known quality of the flesh giants...

Their spinal fluid interacts with the plague in a very interesting way, turning it into a corrosive acid.

Poured from the towering ramparts, acid may not be a welcome sight to the troops below, but at least the victims won't rise up and add to the enemy's numbers.

Pour the contents of this flask into one of the plague cauldrons in the western chamber of the death gate.
