The quest completes at 40, 39. You must go around the lvl 76 Elite Prophet of Sseratus snake that guards the steps to the altar.

The Prophet of Sseratus is soloable, don't be afraid of him.
He hits for about 1200 on plate (~45% mitigation) so you'll need healing, but he died in about half a minute to me.
There's no need to kill him, but for those who like some more challenging mobs, go ahead.

Althought its not needed for the quest, Sseratus is easily killable with lvl74 warlock with felguard when using health funnel.

Why, yes I am!

I foolishly thought that the "back" in the quest dialogue meant the back of the main altar building, And spent an amusing 10 mins finding inventive ways of peeking in the window.

Just give the prophet wide berth, go inside and trigger completion in the middle of the dead boss, 2 mins with flying mount and half a brain.

Unlike TheBaxter, I did not have a flying mount while doing this quest as only lvl 76.

Still simple though.

First go round the back as the quests says

Second move round the edge of the building towards the front (I went right from back of building)

Thrid you will see the prophet but your miles away from him and can sneak into the building from the frount and behind the prophet.

Forth get out same way or hearthstone

Hexxer Ubungo at The Argent Stand has asked you to investigate the main altar building at the Altar of Sseratus.

Description

There's trouble at the altar of the snake god.

The presence of the Scourge has weakened the land, <race>. This in turn has weakened the wild gods.

We know that the Drakkari are taking advantage of this to do evil things to the gods.

I need you to be my eyes and ears. The Altar of Sseratus is at the end of the avenue to the north. Sneak around the back and get a look inside of the main altar building.

Whatever you do, avoid the prophet at all costs!
