Hearthsinger is not rare, he just has multiple spawn points. All of them are in the center area just north of the main gate. If you search around enough, you can always find him.

It's sometimes possible to solo this guy. One of the spawn points is close enough to the east gate to reach after dealing with only one set of mobs, and Hearthsinger himself is pretty easy other than a fairly high resistance to magic.

To reach him, open the gate, deal with the first pack of undead, then follow the wall to the left through a gate to an open area with more undead. A little luck is needed: to break through the first group, you either need to stealth past, or take out two mobs. The undead you face will be of two types: elite zombies, and non-elite skeletons. In both cases, you need the closest undead and either the one to his right or left to be skeletons. The zombies are just too tough to solo, and see through stealth.

If you have zombies, leave and reset the instance; they detect steath and are too tough to solo. If you can stealth, walk around. You can go either direction, but left is easier; only go right if there is a zombie to the left. If you can't stealth, kill the two closest skeletons; it's easiest to kill them one at a time and leave the instance to lose aggro afterwards.

Once through the first group of undead, go along the wall through the gate. Type /tar hearth. If he's close by, you'll target him, if not, you'll get an "unknown unit" message. If he's close, check if he's to the right or left. If he's to the left, there are too many mobs around; leave and reset. If he's to the right, congrats, you can solo him! Just watch out for the wandering patrols, you can pull him alone. I recommend running back into the open area behind you to avoid getting adds.

This guy is pretty easy to solo as a 70 protection warrior if you wear dps gear for it. I had him spawn twice to the left and twice to the right. If he's to the left you can solo the 2 ghouls near him without much difficulty (i have 11k health unbuffed in dps gear as an orc and they got me down to about 3k). After clearing those 2 ghouls you then have enough room to charge him just make sure you are at or near full health because he will dodge a ton so overpower is a must for soloing him. Sunders don't make too much of a difference against this guy for a 70 you are better off just spamming heroic strike and overpower (when its up). If you get him to the right and decide to pull him back your best bet is a LoS pull and then rush him and slowly creep back to give yourself some breaking room. Other than that he's pretty cake. Good Luck with farming him and have fun.

The pulls and Hearthsinger himself can be soloed by a level 70 pally in good tanking gear (doesn't have to be prot-specced, I did it as ret). The defense on my tanking set is 476, so that may be a good number to shoot for if you're looking to solo to him with the large packs of the undead standing in the way.

It helps to know if you are soloing him, he's a neutral mob. When I pulled him, he was surrounded by two hostile elites. I simply targeted him with Exorcism, ran out of LoS, and he chased after me, making it an easy one-mob pull. The other two elites never made chase.

There shouldn't be any "Soloed him as a level 70 whatever..." type posts, hes very easy to solo for anything 70 whatever spec you are, the bleeding hollow orcs in Hellfire Peninsula only have about 1000hp less than him so if you can't solo them you're not only in trouble but very pathetic.

Learn from my mistakes (and save on repair bills):

1. If you are soloing Strat and you can't dispel diseases, you need to bring Jungle Remedies (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=2633). These will usually work on any diseases you get cast on you (which the undead love to do). You can also use Restorative Potion (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=9030 ).

There are annoying diseases like one that makes you move 20% slower, and one that weakens your attack, and they both last for 30 minutes unless removed.

The deadly one, though, is Cadaver Worms, effect: 150 Shadow damage inflicted every 10 sec. Health regeneration rate reduced by 100%. Lasts for 10 minutes. ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=16143 )

It's cast by Mangled Cadaver ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=10382 ) (Needless to say, if you have to kill a mob and this guy is in there, always try to kill him first, fast, before he can cast his disease on you). Jungle Remedy will not always work, and can fail to dispel this.

If you do not get Cadaver Worms dispelled, wait until the next -150 damage from it has hit you, then bandage yourself up (for nonhealing classes, of course). Jungle Remedy shares the potion cooldown of 1 minute 30 seconds, so you have to keep yourself alive until you can drink it again for another attempt.

Note also that the 100% reduction of health regen means that even if you eat food, your health will not regenerate at all. Only bandaging, healing, and potions will regenerate your health while you have this disease.

2. Another thing you need to watch out for in here is a mob called Eye of Naxxramas ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=10411 ). It has very low hp, about 1.6k - 1.7k. You will only see it when it's right up in your face (looks like a dark version of Slimer from Ghostbusters) and it'll yell,"The living are here!" and start casting a summon spell that takes about 4 seconds.

You must kill it before it finishes casting or it will summon 2 gargoyles to attack you. (Note that this can be disastrous if you're in the middle of sneaking past some mobs--I experienced having the entire room leap on me and eviscerate me in seconds, because of the Eye of Naxxramas and its 2 gargoyles.)

3. Lastly, if you're an aoe class aoeing down the mobs, keep in mind that Ravaged Cadavers come to life again after they die, in the form of a Broken Cadaver. It will say in emote text, "Ravaged Cadaver collapses but the broken body rises again!" The broken cadavers have pretty low hp (less than 500), but a bunch of them can finish you off if you're low on hp after an aoe and caught unawares. The broken cadaver's normal hit will do about 75 to a level 70 clothie, and its exploding cadaver attack does 755.

If you are a rogue who is 66+ and get hit by a disease u can use your cloak of shadows to remove it. pretty useful than bringing the jungle remedies but thats just for rogues

He's not a 100% spawn. Atlas tries to say he's up every time but he's still technically a "Rare" spawn. Took me 3 runs to finally get him to spawn.

In my experience Hearthsinger has three spawn points that I have seen, and he DOES always spawn. This is them as if you were coming from the rear entrance (hur hur) of the city. They are all accessed by going through the gate on your left from the courtyard just inside of the rear entrance (that requires the Key to the City dropped from the Magistrate close to Baron Rivendare, Undead Side). As a Level 70, you can avoid every group in this little courtyard heading to the west gate just by being careful.

1) He is to the left of the gate, with two aggroing ghouls in front of him. They can be safely pulled away from him without him linking.

2) He is to the right of the gate. If you are a level 70 you should be able to get to him and battle him at his spawn point without aggroing any other undeads (watch out for the patrolling abomination)

3) He is to the right of the gate, however he is much further away than the previous spawn point. You will need to kill The Unforgiven boss in order to get to him here (this boss should not be too hard for a level 70, but watch out for patrols who can link, and his very high dodge rating). After you kill The Unforgiven, you should be able to see Hearthsinger in the next open area surrounded by some undeads.

As a level 70, most of the undead enemies can be avoided simply by being careful (I just did this as a Warrior...a Tauren no less (podgy!), and managed to avoid all the groups. Just had to take care of a couple of patrols).

I would recommend making a '/target Hearth' macro upon starting your farming, and first use it when you enter the west gate that leads from the undead side to the human side (where he can spawn to the left or right of). If you get him targetted he will be in either spawn point 1 or 2, if not you're in for the long haul (you may want to leave and reset if this is the case).

The hearthsinger is very easy to solo. His damage is pretty pitiful. If you don't have track undead, you will find a /target Hearthsinger macro useful. He's semitransparent and hard to see if you're not targeting him.

Pro tip: kill the first group of non-elites, then strip down to your unbreakables if it's your first time through. I had never been to Stratholme before and it took a few tries before I got the dodging down pat.

If you don't have a Key to the City, like I didn't my first time through, you're going to want to go north and then northwest, dodging pulls toward his first spawn point. Watch for junction areas with portcullises: the first one you go through, like thirty rats will spawn and start biting your ass. They actually do a significant amount of damage, so AoE is very useful here. I feigned death, myself. My warlock didn't have a chance of getting a seed of corruption off, sigh.

If he's not at that first spawn point, continue on to the right, again dodging mobs. Four ghosts that dodge a lot will spawn at the next junction point. Again, I just feigned death. Possibly spells or overpower will be more useful here. The hearthsinger's next spawn point is just around the corner past the dodgy ghosts.

Finally, his third spawn point is across this next courtyard-like area, on the south wall beside two ghouls which you will have to fight as well, but if you can solo him, you should be able to solo them without much trouble.

If you're ridiculously lucky and get the piccolo on your first try, well, I hate you. If you're like me, what you want to do next is go through the large portcullised gateway to the northeast of that last spawn point. No surprise mobs at this junction. In front of you will be a little church and a fellow named Magistrate Barthilas. Kill his ass, which is a little harder to do than our prancing minstrel friend, but still very easy, at least for this hunter in pvp blues. He will drop the Key to the City.

To your right will be another portcullis. This is the fabled back entrance to Stratholme. Now you can easily run out and reset the instance, then run back in for another shot at killing the Hearthsinger. The pulls on this side of the instance are super easy to dodge, too, compared to the long way, so there's less pressure to be a stealth class or hunter.

Pretty easy to solo as a warlock....

Throw on Detect Lesser Invisibility, Pop up your pet of choice

Walk in (live if you dont have the key)

walk up to the first gate (right side) where the rat trap is, summon an Eye of Kilrogg, make it go in and set off the trap.

SoC one of the rats when your eye is gone, and do something to get enough dmg off to set it off.

Then make a macro... /target Hearthsinger Forresten

Bring out the Eye of Kilrogg again, hit the macro every now and then till it detects him, then look for him.

He is VERY easy to solo, but I recommend throwing a CoE on him, he seems to have a fairly decent shadow resistance. My shadow bolts that hit about 1.4k were only hitting about 600-800 on him, but thats still not much of a problem considering he hits like a teddy bear.

Confirm this guy is easy to get to and kill at 70 (I am a shadow priest with subpar gear) without having to fight almost anything, unless he spawns at his third farthest point on the way to live strat side. And even then you might have to kill one-two pats+The Unforgiven.Just hug the walls and jump over crates when you need to.

The only annoying thing about Forresten and the Unforgiven is that they seem resistant to shadow spells, so I waste half of my mana pool each time on resists.

Nice thing is that this short route also allows you to kill Balzaphon, another easy boss. Between the three of them you get 4 Corruptor's scourgestones per reset. Not counting rep from killing and lesser scourgestones, you get easy 2500 rep with Argent Dawn per hour (5 reset limit), plus nice gold in drops and runecloth. And if you're an enchanter this is truly a goldmine on most servers, because large brilliants are expensive and you can get easy 3 shards per reset.

I had to do this route for two hours tonight trying to get the piccolo trinket off Forresten until it finally dropped on my 10th reset of the instance. Between all the scourgestones+killing rep+blues+greens+runecloth I got 7000 reputation with Argent Dawn and about 300 gold from enchanting materials and runecloth.

This guy has to be a rarespawn, yet an extremely common one. I've made two runs in a row now without him having spawned. I've searched all over his spawn points, and no Hearthsinger.
Even so, the countless times I've run this instance, he's always there, yet now he isn't.

Incredibly easy to grab the Piccolo if you're doing Baron runs; just hang a left before you go to the first boss, inch along the wall and check to see if he's spawned (on the right - near the buildings) there, if not you can go a bit further and check his other spawns.
Though, it's likely you'll eventually get the Piccolo just on the closest spawn if you kill him every time you reset.

I got it the fourth reset (of the day) on the middle spawn point. Just after getting my mount. :)

I went in to farm him -- 80 mage in some Ulduar gear -- and I could walk past almost all the mobs and go straight to him using the /tar macro as others suggested. If I didn't get the piccolo I was after, I left the same way and reset the instance.

What I did not know was that you can only do that a limited number of times in a limited period of time. I killed Hearthsinger about 5 times in 15-20 minutes and then found myself locked out of the instance with the message "You have been in too many instances." To check whether it was too many of ANY kind of instances, I ported to SW and tested it trying to enter the Stockades, only to find out I couldn't go in there either. Don't know how long the lockout will last... guess I'll find out.

I think I've discovered the trick to this guy.

First of all, he is a rare spawn, so it will probably take several stratholme runs to make him appear. If he does appear however, you should take full advantage of this opportunity.

Forresten will appear in one of two general areas. He will appear in the vicinity of the Market Row Postbox (usually he is next to some steps or underneath a building overhang). If you're doing a Scarlet Strat run, and he's spawned here, glance to your right after you pass through the booby trapped area with all of the bugs.

The other place he'll appear is in the central area of Festival Lane. I have noted two places where he'll appear there. One is directly to the right of the huge doorway to Elder's Square (where that chapel and the service entrance are located). The other is under another building overhang to the left of that.

Now, if you are able to find him, there is a trick to this which I believe I discovered. Some people report that he will respawn after a while. This is true, and there is a way to accelerate it.

Step one, kill him. Loot everything off of him.

Step two, check every known spawn point where he might appear. In one of these areas, you will find a lone plague ghoul that recently appeared. Kill the ghoul.

Once you kill him, either another ghoul will spawn, or Forresten will respawn soon afterwards. You know that Forresten will respawn soon if his corpse disappears shortly after killing the ghoul. If another ghoul spawns, kill it.

As near as I can tell, his respawn time is approximately 10 minutes if you do this. This means that, provided you have cleared all of the regular mobs, you can have very many opportunities to kill him (and get the piccolo of course) before everything respawns. Granted, you will have to deal with the occasional Eye of Naxxramas or Abomb respawn, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.

So, that said, good hunting!

I am a 60druid. Dont know if you can solo him as rogue since he has Evasion as passive skill. Nwm ill tell you what to do.

First of all get the Key to City.

Go to Service entrance.
When you are inside the instance you can see the first group that are made by 3-4 ghouls rest skeletons.

If there is a Ghoul in front of the gate, you just have to run out and resett instance... well.
If there is a skeleton you have like 75% chance that there are only 1 ghoul beside him. If its so, go in stealth/invisibility on the side that there is _no_ ghoul. Hopefully there is one on the right side and you just go left.
If there is a ghoul on left side go as near the wall as possible and go behind the house and go around the house. Stay in front of the house.

When you have come so far there is a % that he has spawned between 25-50%.
Well you guys that dont know where he spawnes go to the big entrance to scarlet side and stand in middle.
When you are here do /target H. If hearthsinger doesnt come up as target just reset instance again and do the stuff ive said again.

If hearthsinger forresten comes up as target go "out" from the middle of the gates in stealth so no one can see you.

If he has spawned to left he is _always_ linked to 2 other ghouls and many other mobs on the way, you have to reset instance again.

If he has spawned to right side you go to the corner on right and moonfire him so he comes (Notice that there is a ghoul that patrols on this spot). When he comes to the corner you go back to the middle of the gates. Back a little bit so he wont add the patrolling ghoul. Now just hope you get the Piccolos.

If not its not a waste of time, you get 1 rare item that enchants to <Large brilliant shard> and a corruptors scourgestone.

Well goodluck and yes i have done this, took me 3days to get the Trinket but i was not so active in running him. Read the important following lines.

*** The first spawn of mobs is almost 80% that you get a nice spawn so you can get to the middle of the gates***

***Druids, i prefered to do moonfire and starfire since he has lesser DPS with his bow, Nice armor equiped Druids can solo him "easy"***

***Make sure you have mana/buffs and even a mana potion if you dont have a good gear since i almost run all out of mana***

When you first open the gate, it's important that you don't go right next to it. The little gear cursor thing will turn active before you are actually flush against the gate. Then, you shouldn't be attacked as soon as you open the gate.

Next, cat->stealth and go left or right (basically wherever there isn't a cadaver). If a cadaver was in front of the gate, you are now dead. Reset. :)

I haven't actually gotten Hearthsinger Forresten in a good place yet (only done 6 resets so far) but it seems like this technique will work well.

I attempted to try to solo him, but I have problems resetting instance to get the first cadaver to be placed far from the gate. Just walking out and in doesnt reset the instance.. I've tried waiting outside instance for a while too.
Its easy to notice that the instance hasn't been reset since it takes several seconds to open the gate the first time and it says "Key To The City needed", but when I return it opens instantly..

As a mage, I do not recommend trying to solo this guy. He has MASSIVE resistance to all schools of magic. I don't post here often, but because I was not warned of this, I'm moved to warn others. My mage has all +damage/+%crit gear with a total of +2% to hit w/ spells plus the pvp trinket which decreases magical resistances of the target by 20. Even with this setup, after 5 attempts, the most I could get him down to (using all my cooldowns, trinkets, stones, and a health pot) was about 15-20%. Just get any other random person to help you out once you find him and it's way easy to finish him off. The Magister's Boots for my .5 quests dropped the first time.

Other tips:

1) Use a Dream Vision potion to check to make sure he's there. They're pretty cheap to make and that way you don't waste invisibility potions.

2) Often, you can take out the skeletons nearest to the gate one by one. Just kill one, exit the instance before you die, then go back and kill another. This allows you to sneak by without an invisibility pot.

3) He seems to resist fire less than arcane/frost. This may have been just coincidence.

4) Definitely use the PvP trinket that decreases target magic resistance. I forgot to equip it once, and quickly noticed that he was resisting way more...arcane missiles were hitting for between 50-100 the whole time, if not completely resisted. Besides, this is just one of the best trinkets a casual player can get. Add it to your inventory!

well for 1 hes NOT a rare spawn... he just moves to 4 different places in strat if u wanna kill him u just gotta look for him cosmos tells u the 4 places he spawns inside the instance and every time ive been there he has been in 1 of the 4 spots... just look for him hes there trust me :D

Me and another mage farmed him 2 man for a good while last nite.

What we did was walk in *not going to explain resets.* kill the mob CLOSEST to the gate, and the mob to the most left. those are the only 2 that will aggro a 60 when walking by. Focus Fire on the first guy, burn him down, run out if needed, then remove the second guy.

No to the tunnel *im not going to explain spawn points either, get atlas.* did a /target hearth to see if he was in either 2 close spawnpoints. One is to the left *hard*. One is to the right *Easy*. If he is to the right, mind the ghoul pat, and the horror pat. Kill the mob closest to the corner of the tunnel, then you can pull hearth singer to the tunnel which can very much be 2 manned. He uses a bow, so you actually need to walk into the tunnel to kill his LoS.

As for the left side, you have to kill as many as possible, then frost nova, and run out.. It works, i got my boots last nite. Now im working on my buddies. hope this helps.

I smoked him every day. I ran in and FDed out of range of the first mob, ran to hearth pulled him and ran around both corners so he didn't range me and tore him to peices. The only thing he has going for him is his seduction... My tip on that is to let your pet hit him for a while, then start attacking. He will seduce you, then when you come back awake, heal your pet. Then attack again. In my experience he seduces only 2-3 times, so once he's got no seduces left, he's gone.

Currently soloing this mob with my druid for the Songbird Blouse

Current stats:

Instance resets - 24
Times hit instance reset limit - 4
Successfully stealthed to the spawn area - ~10
Hearthsinger spawned and in the correct place - 3

drops:
3x Corruptor's Scourgestone
2x Magisters Boots
1x Woollies of the Prancing Minstrel

Looks like this is going to take a looong time :P

The scourgestones kinda made up for it though, got my AD shoulder enchants now :>

Solo'd this guy today. He's pretty tough for a mage - the poster above wasn't kidding about resistances. You still can kill him, but you gotta give him everything you got.

Make sure you have mana shield and a mana ruby up before you start. Start with pyro/fireball. If you don't hit for at least 1000, run out and try again.

You need to go all out DPS on him. Fireball, fireball, and fireblast whenever its up. (I'm scorch spec'd, and but scorch couldn't put out enough DPS in time).

If you need healing potions, you can loot them from the crate that sometimes appears to the left :D Just kill the non-elite and run out, then come back and loot.

Above posts are very good, especially those about his resistances. If you can avoid doing this solo, I HIGHLY recommend it. It would be a cake walk if you get ANY help. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anyone at 2AM last night, so, as a frost mage, I had to struggle to take him out solo. Here are my two cents from the experience:

Dream Vision Potion: As posted above, definitely worth the coin to buy some Dream Vision potions. They'll pay for themselves with equipment repair savings. Simply open the gate (without aggroing mobs of course), step back quickly, drink the potion, then move forward immediately before the gate closes. Move to the tunnel on the left. Type "target h" and hopefully he's around the corner to the right.

FIRST GROUP OF MOBS

1a. Having two skeleton in the center and left positions at the first gate is definitely the easiest. You can reset the instance until you get this configuration if needed, but then you have to worry about the 5 resets per hour lock-out.

Clearing the left-most mobs is worth it so you can make an easy escape later (see below). Plus I didn't have any luck with the invis potions. IIRC, the skeletons had about 2800-2900 health; the cadavers 7800-9000.

Here's the easiest way I found to clear them solo as a frost mage (w/ ~250 +spell dmg gear).

- Target one of the left skeletons
- Open the gate
- Fire Blast to get initial aggro.
- Immediately start backing up into the tunnel.
- Just before the mobs reach you, cast CoC to slow those in the front of the pack.
- Keep backing up and once the back mobs have caught up with the slowed one, Frost Nova.
- Turn around and blink to near the entrance.
- Turn back and cast Frostbolt, Frostbolt, Fire Blast. Target should be dead. If not, spam CoC and Arcane Explosion as you zone out of the instance. You could also use Cold Snag if it's cooled down to make this very easy.
- Repeat for each non-elite skeleton. Only need to kill the left-most 2-3 mobs to walk by them all at L60.

1b. Even if you have cadavers in the left-most spots and don't want to reset the instance for whatever reason (e.g. almost at hourly reset limit), this is still soloable, but harder.

- Optional: Clear the non-elite skeletons first. This makes it much easier.
- When you're left with only elite cadavers, open the gate and move in to the left.
- Mobs will aggro. Keep moving.
- Cone of Cold for initial damage
- Frost Nova to freeze them.
- Blink to the west.
- Turn and do standard AOE tactic (i.e. 2 Blizzards, CoC, Frost Nova, Blink, Repeat).
- In addition to this, I had to throw in a few Fire Blasts to kill the first cadaver. They have about 9K health.
- Once the "targeted" Cadaver is dead (should die first if you're throwing in Fire Blasts), either continue AOEing the others or zone if near OOM.
- Repeat if necessary. Yes, a pain.

Also recommend Mana Ruby, Mana and/Healing potions available, any other mana restore trinkets, robes, etc. cooled down. Ice Barrier was also invaluable.

HEARTHSINGER FORRESTEN

The above posts cover clearing to and killing Hearthsinger pretty well. Few comments as a Frost Mage:
- He doesn't have a lot of HPs. Maybe 3.5-4K IIRC.
- Yes, he's VERY resistant to spells, particularly to frost and arcane. On multiple attempts I would get roughly 50%+ of Frostbolts resisted and Arcane Missiles were doing 100-150 each. (This is with roughly 250 +spell dmg gear.) Definitely favor % chance to hit and resistance reducing gear over +dmg gear, if you have any.
- Clear the mob nearest to him then zone out so you don't have to kill the linked group.
- I led the fight with a Fireball. Yes, even as a frost mage. Lucked out and it did full damage so the fight was on!
- Fireblast then pull him to the tunnel. If you're lucky, he should be down to about 2K health.
- Stand at the tunnel entrance so you can hide when needed.
- Now hide for a second to pull him within range of Fire Blast, then move back out. He should start shooting his arrows at you.
- Fireblast+nuke with whatever works (Fireball, Frostbolt, AM).
- Watch your health! Use Ice Barrier, Healing Potions, Mana Ruby liberally.
- Mana shield didn't appear to block his arrows.
- I even had to duck behind the wall near the end to use bandages without being interrupted (300 first aid). This will cause him to move to the corner of the tunnel entrance where you're hiding. Once bandaging was done, I cast Frost Nova through the wall to block him, refreshed Ice Barrier and then finished him off.

Yes, lot of detail here, but I figured the more the merrier. Hopefully this and the good posts above will save you some time.

Btw, he didn't drop the boots! :( Got the piccolo, but heading back tonight.

Can anyone confirm that the piccolo still drops from heathsinger since 2.0.10? I have famred the absolute crap out of this guy, for example i had 8 song bird blouses in my inventory for a while, and I have never seen a single piccolo. Everything else on his loot table has dropped 7 - 13 times =(

As a lvl 70 rogue with a sense of humor i needed this trinket, its pretty easy to get for me at least. Just go in the service entrance and stealth around into festival lane to the right, turn NPC names on so its easier to spot him. His name should be the only one in yellow besides the spectral citizens, just look over most of the lane real quick and if you don't see him go out and reset. When you finally see him he might be very close to ghouls (this happened my first time) but i fought him anyways and didnt aggro the ghouls. Now the only hard thing is the drop

This mob is not a rare spawn. I repeat, this mob is NOT a rare spawn.

70 affliction lock (me) and 70 fire mage (friend) trying this together, if you pull a mob, just run out or wipe. They die too easily for you to do any damage from dots, so have void tank if you can while you nuke SB.

We're up to our 8th run, the piccolo has dropped once, and he won it. We enter through the side entrance, after entering through the main entrance once, killing the guy, and getting the key.

He has spawned EVERY TIME, in EVERY strat run that I've been in so far, it's just a matter of finding where he spawned.

We've gotten pretty good at it, there's two places you can kill him at without agroing anyone else, and the other two, all you have to do is kill a couple pats.

I make good money farming Large Brilliant Shards off this guy... in one of his locations you don't have to fight any mobs once you enter, and in the other you have to fight only 2 or 3. You'll be limited only by the 5 instances/hour limit.

Dropped yesterday for me and another. We're both 70s and wanted this for comedy purposes. He will spawn EVERY time you reset. Use the service entrance as others have stated. Run out and reset after you kill him each time. Then check the spawn points when you re-enter. It's easier if you make the macro "/Target Hearthsinger Forresten". Just run up to him, kill him and loot. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Keep in mind, that you are limited to 5 instance entries an hour. This happened to us yesterday, and we couldn't enter for an hour. But keep trying, and you'll get it!

really really easy to solo at lv 70, u dont even need stealth for vertially all of it becuase the aggro range is so small. i suppose u could even try using a shrouding potion if u wanted. i killed him and lost 5% health each time took 8 goes to drop.

Using the above /target maneuver, this has become real easy. He drops a Corruptor's Scourge stone almost every kill, making argent rep easier.

Killed 3 of him so far, no piccolo.

Sure, Baron's mount would be a much nicer farmable item, but the piccolo is a hell of a nice item to have.

Easy way to grind. If you dont mind dieing heres how ya do it:

Make a macro for /target hearthsinger forresten. Go into Strat. walk by as many mobs as you can until you get past the trap. Spam your macro till you find him. Kill him. Now that you've killed you would have to hearth to come back and kill him again..., BUT, if you die you can reset the instance while your walking back then when you enter do it all over.

Just started farming for the trinket. Easy for a 70 hunter. Killed 5 times, got the boots twice, mail paints twice, and blouse once. Oh well, Ill try again in an hour.

To help shorten the macro, "/tar Hearth" will work too, if you like keeping your macros short.

**Just make sure to despawn your pet so you don't pull accidental aggro. As a hunter the Disease of rotting worms will kill you no matter how well geared you are.**

Soloed as a 60 shadow priest (Mostly blues, a few epics)

Was going for the piccolo (i love the toys in this game!) Anyhoo, Mind visioned to get him to spawn near the entrance. Killed 2 mobs from the first pull, then i could sneak all the way to the hearthsinger, who was just to the right after the gate (There was a group near him that was really close to him, but did not pull with him) Soloed him easily, unfortunately the mage boots dropped and not my trinket, and now i'm locked out of the instance cause i couldn't get him to spawn there again...

I managed to solo him a few times today (Druid, of course).
As said before, reset the instance until the elite ghouls stand away and to the far right of the gate, open the gate and let it close. Shift into cat-form, open the gate, stealth and the don't hug the left wall, marry it ;) The ghouls will always turn towards you, but won't aggro.
Then simply sneak to the archway on the left and check around the right corner for him.
ATTENTION! Watch out for the two mobs patroulling the yard!

Simply pull and kill him.

Druids:

Enter via. Baron side and stealth past the first pull, then travel left to the tunnel that leads to Scarlet (or Live) side Strath. Walk to the end of the tunnel, to your right should be something that looks like a house with a kind of verandah over it.

Make a macro /target Hearthsinger and see if he's infront of that house. If he isn't, reset the instance. If he is, pull him into the tunnel with Moonfire or Starfire.

Soloing him from here is pretty easy. He dodges alot, so don't rely on Bash + Heal - Bash if you can, but make sure you have time to do a Swift heal if it fails. Just keep hitting him in bear and with the occasional moonfire and you should do fine. He's not too hard.

60 Druid here..was able to get by the initial mobs at gate, had to reset for the skelly to be in front, but no prob getting past them. When I entered the arc, I hit my macro to target hearth, was pleased to see him pop on my screen, but couldnt see him around the corner to the right. My question is, does he stand in front of that house to the right? And since I didnt see him, i'll assume he was on the left, which is bad.

Since the level cap was raised it is now possible to run through the instance to him with nearly now aggro with a hunter. This could obviously work for a rogue to.

At 70 you can dodge between the group of mobs and make your way to him from the Front gate or Service gate. Which means that you no longer have to reset the instance each time you don't get the skeletons or he's not in this spawn.

Also the service gate at 70 will not aggro anybody if you go off to the left side.

Hearthsinger is very easy kill and shouldn't cause any problems.

So far i've gone to Stratholme twice and he has been theres twice each time i've gone, I haven't seen the blouse drop but my friend and I both have the piccolo, makes for a fun time in Ironforge :)

I was able to solo Hearthsinger on my mage (mostly just blues) by killing the nonelites in the first group one by one. Then I moved past that group as the elites were off to one side.
Hearthsinger was to the left of the courtyard through the gate. I had to kill 3 more nonelites from the leftmost group (running out after each kill) and one elite (he was tough: nuke him once, free the group, nuke again) who had 7K hp's.
Then I waited on the Pat's and pulled Hearthsinger. He died easily enough, I had to be careful not to kill him where he stood, but to pull him through the gate so I could loot him safely.
He dropped my boots!
He had about 6K HP's, and just used his bow to very little effect.

The trick to sneaking past the first group of mobs Baron side is to reset until there isn't an elite at the very front or the left of the group. A front or left elite will see through stealth every time. Even my rogue friend couldn't make it through with distract.

Been sitting here for more than 15 minutes and haven't seen him respawn yet. Anyone know for sure if he still does?

Did it with a 60 rogue, PVE spec. if you time it right you can run without agroing any ghouls. just distract them and run along the wall. survive with 5% health after using all cooldowns and health pot.
