Right on to of the fortress

Definetly not soloable..he hit me(ret pally) for 2.5-3k a hit normal hit,he does a frost bolt for 2k dmg,a whirlwind for the same amount,and a blizzard which ticks for 1500/tick.

252,000 HP on Balagarde. Solod' as level 80 Retirbution paladin. Had all epic Heroic Naxx gear + Seal of Light. Weapon hit healed for 1000 + Judgement of Light for 650+. Watch his Whirlwind, it hits for 2250/sec for like 8 secs. His pet dragon puts a frost trap on the floor reducing movement speed. Was hitting me for 2000-2400 @ 13.5k armor (46% damage mitigation).

At around 50% the fight stops. Lich King enters and kills the Possessed Vardmadra. Resumes once the Lich King kills her. When you kill Balagarde, Lich King challenges you to enter his Citadel.

2-boxed this as 80 Arms Warrior in tank gear (19k hp unbuffed) and 80 Holy Priest. The first time I tried, the Priest pretty much got owned by whirlwind and heroic leap. The second time I put the Priest up on top of one of the crenellations and she was never targeted for the heroic leap, just an occasional blizzard which hit for maybe 5-6k.

I did end up having to use potions and most of my cooldowns and was OOM at the end. A properly specced tank would make it easier.

Edit: you still stay in combat during the little break, or at least I did, so I couldn't drink/eat.

Soloed as lvl 80 Holy pala. Just make sure your topped at all times. You need to kite him abit aswell, or well run away from his blizzard and whirlwind. Key thing that helped me this fight is the item you get for Vrykul Bones, choose the buff which increases your run speed by 15%.

Casts frostbolts and blizzard for about 1.5k, melees for 1.5k on 25k armor, whirlwinds for 1.5k per second. The whirlwind is the most dangerous part, but this is doable solo as a decently geared deathknight tank. Remember to save anti-magic shell for blizzards/frostbolts, and cycle between boneshield and icebound fortitude the rest of the time. At about half way through the fight you'll get a breather to bandage yourself.

A funny thing, a Prot pally and a holy pally(me) was duoing it. Both of us clicked bubble and suddenly Overthane jumped and started attacking Vardmarda, He got her to 42% before jumping back on to us. Hilarious, when the Lich King came she was already dead.

Solo'd as level 80 Restoration shaman, quite easy. Just keep flame shock on him and keep searing totem down, avoid blizzards,frozen ground and whirlwinds with instant ghost wolf form.

Edit: He only used heroic leap on my searing totem, so I didn't get stuns on me (totem didn't get damage from the leap, nor stun).

If you're going to try and solo this, he can use Heroic Leap while using Whirlwind, so don't run too far away from him when he does, so he won't Heroic Leap on you and stun you while he's Whirlwinding. It's not fun at all.

Just soloed this barely as an 80 unholy dps Death Knight. Fight was long, involved some semi-kiting away from ice patches while he was whirlwinding, summoned and sacrificed my ghoul for health throughout the fight, also had gargoyle up every time it was off of cooldown. I did not use Army of the Dead, although that probably would have made it easier. I was wearing tank gear for this as well as in frost presence. Basically just outlasted him through using death strike as often as possible, and bandaged myself whenever he was far enough away and whirlwinding.

Duo'd this as 80 Prot Warr and 79 Hunter, had to pop 2 TBC hp pots, blow shield wall and last stand, bandage twice, and yet i died at 2% but hunter managed to finish off and we got credit.

Duo'd as an 80 prot Warrior and an 80 Frost Mage. Dampen Magic helped a bit as well as running away when he started using Whirlwind. Shield Wall was needed as well as a bandage and a pot. I would have sucked down a second pot but, the new system prevents you from using more than one per fight...

Soloed as 78 Deathknight, bloodspec in tanking gear. took a bloody long time, used bone witch +15% run speed and -5% damage buffs, this helped with running away from whirlwind. didn't even need to pot, remember to use ghoul twice as the fight lasts THAT long. i also had the blue trinket which heals you reward. use rune tap with vamp talent to maximize healing, try to keep yourself up and if you can't run away use IBF, use magic shell for frostbolts and you should be fine.

Solo'd this fairly easily as a tankadin. Merely kept up Seal of Light, Judgement of Light, cast Holy Light on myself when he was whirldwinding (once I ran far enough away), hit Divine Plea every CD and had to use Divine Shield once. Did not even use Lay on Hands.

2 boxed--80 ret pally (sword and board 540 defense 20k hp ~ 18.5 k armor) in tank gear with a 79 priest, 1350 heals 15.5k mana. The most challenging part is getting out of the frost trap on the ground, or deciding to heal through it.
For the most part it was pretty easy to heal through his whirlwind, and I kept the priest at the horn for whole event. used greater heal, PoM and would pop renew as it came off cooldown.

It was a pretty long fight 2 boxing it, ~5 minutes but not really that challenging once you get it down.

He jumps off and begins combat.

At about 50% fighting will stop and some lore will go on.

30 seconds of lore and then fight resumes, kill named from 50% to 0 for completion.

I solo'd it on my second attempt, but it was absolutely brutal. This is probably the hardest solo I've seen. The only thing as bad was Abbendis (at the level I did her).

I'm a level 80 BM hunter with midrange gear, and I'm spec'd for soloing group quests. BM DPS builds aren't necessarily at a disadvantage here as you're primarily relying on distracting kiting and maneuvering to survive. Gearwise, I have the full 78 pvp blue set with the Nesingwary 4k and some other slots filled with 80 pvp epics. I grabbed the midrange Wrath enchants.

My pet, even with 14k health, 18111, armor and 75% aoe damage reduction, took a hammering. I had to distracting shot kite almost constantly to keep damage down on my pet. You also have to make sure to time your distracting shot to pull the mob as soon as he starts a blizzard, to get your pet out of it. The blizzard is the real enemy for a hunter's pet, as the WW only ticks for about 444 on a decently-armored pet. Complicating this strategy is the ice slicks that are laid down during the battle. You will also have to viper up at least twice. DO NOT get caught without mana. If you miss a few seconds worth of mend, you will lose. If you miss one distracting shot when you need to, you will lose. Make sure to use deterrence and disengage to survive and/or escape if he gets too close when you distract.

Also, like many others, this mob has a tiny mana pool. Drain it with viper immediately, as from what I can tell, he uses it to frostbolt. You do not want to be slowed if you distract.

Doable as BM, but don't expect it to be easy.

This is solo-able by an average geared 80 SL/FG spec'ed warlock. The trick is that you MUST drain his mana while your VW is under Demonic Empowerment. Here is how I did it:

Blow on the Horn to start the event
As soon as you enter combat send your pet in and the second your pet lands his first attack, pop Demonic Empowerment. Doing this will buy you time to Drain Mana. Do it quickly.
After you have drained his mana, your pet will have taken quite a beating. I only applied CoA and had to Health Funnel my VW back from around 60-70%.
From here it's very much a DoT vs Threat game. You have to do as much damage as possible while keeping your VW alive. Keeping an eye on his mana pool. I never let him get back up to 25%. I would drain it as soon as it hit 25%.
By the time you hit 50% the fighting will stop. Don't waste a precious second of that downtime. Pull your VW by putting him to passive and either Consume Shadows or Health Funnel him back to full health. I have Mana Feed(Rank 2) so I had him back to full mana when he finished CS and I LT'ed. Then I bandaged back to full health.
Round 2 begins and he was at about 50% mana for me. Make sure you drain his mana again. I'm not sure if his WW is an ability that doesn't cost mana or not but I had to avoid his WW a couple of times. I found that staying between 10-20 yds away from him helped. This round is just like the first round. Keep him dotted. Keep your threat down. Keep your VW up.
One thing I forgot to mention. Keep Demonic Empowerment up every time the cd is up. This is vital. I had to soulshatter once in the fight it was around when he was at 20-25% health. After the soulshatter, it was all downhill from there. I made sure he was OOM. Kept DoT's up and kept my threat down by not spamming shadowbolts. Don't overheal your VW either. I would start healing him after a DoT rotation. Keep your calm. Start healing VW when he hits 60% or so.

When the fight ended, I was at around 65% health and about 20% mana. I didn't think about this at the time, but if you really wanted to, you could probably sac your VW and burn him for the last 5% if your dps is decent enough. I was in quest/heroic blues and a single badge item (neck) and heroic loot belt. My spell damage self-buffed is 1711 with hit maxed for an 82. My haste and crit were negligible as most of the fight was DoTs. I used a health pot and a health stone during the fight. My weapon was buffed with Grand Spellstone. And I had +40 stam buff food with spell dmg. I popped my +dmg trinket twice during the fight.

Hope this helps. (It took me 3 tries to solo this. It was NOT easy. Timing is VERY important. Keep him OOM and DoT'ed).

Two manned this as a Resto shaman with Frost mage both with some Naxx 25 gear.

Used the Water Elemental as the tank to start, Mage did light dps until the elemental was due to die then cranked it up - I spammed heals. I kept my elemental to tank the second half of the event which is a little trickier than the first. Key thing to watch for here is that the mage stays in range of heals WITHOUT being on top of you. Both of you being stunned is a wipe :P

Other than that, typical wow strats (kite when needed, watch aggro, don't stand in blizzard etc...). As has been mentioned before, go hand in some bones to the Bone Witch first and get that speed buff. Works very well this fight.

Party setup - Killed him with party setup : 2xDK 80lvl and rogue 77lvl. I was one DK blood/frost pvp build with prot gear on in blood presence (tanking).

Coords - 18,54 - on the top of the building there is a hord that you have to use to call the elite.

Basics to know - Move away from frost trap (in order to be flexable kiting him), move away from whirlwind and blizzard. Dont use army of dead they die for 1 aoe, use your ghoul only to heal yourself (summon and consume him asap if needed).

Tried to solo as a naxx geared protection paladin and failed.
It would be possible if you have specced Everlastingmanaofuberness.

He just has way too much hp to burn down by yourself. It took me about 3 minutes to get him down to 55%, which is when i dies because I was OOM and had no remaining escapes.

You will need a group.

Solo'ed as a Lv80 Frost DK with a few Naxx epics.

As usual, keep both diseases up and spam Death Strike as much as you can.

Keep Icebound fortitude for his whirlwind, as it is by far his most damaging ability.
Run out of the blizzards and of the frost zones laid by the proto-drakes.
Pop Unbreakable Armor in the phases where he just melees you.

Don't use your ghoul as a DPS help, since it won't last long versus his whirlwind. Instead, keep it as an emergency heal thanks to Death Pact.

Pop a bandage if needed when the event plays, at 50% of his life.

Runes sold by the quest giver can be of great help here.

Did this solo on a feral druid. Tried this in my FR set(polar set) for the resists and stam but just couldn't do enough damage and not enough mitigation. Went to my tank set, badge gear/heroic drops, and was able to do it. Had to pop frenzied regeneration/lifeblood for each phase and had to pop survival instincts at the end but it is definitely doable. I did have the 15% run speed rune to help with whirlwind when I was slowed by that dragon's ability.

Dual boxed this with a rogue and holy priest. i'm sure it'll be really easy to do this as two separate players with rogue/holy priest combo. Had a hard time alt-tabbing to move both of them out of the whirlwind when got close. Other than that wasn't too bad.

Easily soloed by a 17/0/54 Unholy dps build. I only have reputation tanking gear, some instance gear and some quest gear. Keep diseases up spam death strike and kite him all around. Use any dps'ing abilities ( Unholy Blighy, Summon Gargoyle). Only popped 1 healing potion. And use Icebound Fortitude when you can't run away from him while he's whirlwindig due to slowing effects. Death Strike can keep you up all the time.

I soloed this as a holy priest with Lightwell.
I kited him around the Lightwell and healed myself a lot while keeping up both dots and the occasional Holy Fire.
It was still pretty hard, but doable.

Soloed him as prot warrior. My gear was at Naxx-Non-Hero and Heroics level.

Keep Thunderclap and Demoshout up, Shield Block on cooldown. If you get low, use Shieldwall, Last Stand and Enraged Regeneration. Always Spellreflect the Frostbolt he casts, helps a little with the damage, not sure if you can interrupt them. Always get out of the frozen ground or you will have a problem if he starts using whirlwind. Don't get too much range or he will do a heroic leap on you which will stun you for, I think 3 seconds.

I used Fate Rune of Unsurpassed Vigor which helped a little, healed me for about 4k in the fight. You can also combine this one with Fate Rune of Nigh Invincibility and Fate Rune of Baneful Intent. All are available at The Bone Witch.

Soloed as a blood DK in blue tanking gear on 1/4/09. The trick is to run away from him while he does the whirlwinds, make good use of rune tap and death strike, as well as anti magic shield. Pretty straight forward, he only hit me for around 1.7k regular (on plate).

I managed to solo this as a 30/41/0 warlock in a smattering of quest rares and a couple of crafted epics.

It was definitely tricky because of all the AOE, and in fact took me two attempts but it is doable if you can keep a cool head.

I used the felguard along with curse of weakness, siphon life, corr, immolate, and just used drain life to heal through the blizzards..

Keep your demon healed, watch for the stun and good luck!

Soloed this as a recently 80 resto shaman in quest blues/greens. Kept water shield up and I used searing totem and flame shocks with the occasional lava burst when i was topped off. I got very low a few times (had to use nature's swiftness twice), and I did have to use mana tide and a mana pot, but it wasn't too difficult.

Avoid the blizzards, but you can't do much about the whirlwinds since if you get any sort of distance on him he will leap to you and stun.

I'd recommend finding someone else if you can, though, as it took me quite a while since most of my time was spent healing myself and refreshing mana shield while letting my searing totem do the work. No one else needed the quest at the time, though, so I had to solo it <.<.

About fighting this:

You need at least 1 tank plus more classes (the more the better)

when you get him to 125k hp a small cutscene will start, you won't be able to rest, but you have a few seconds to use bandages or heals

A)The mob randomly selects targets, even if you do low or none dps, he can come for you

B)https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=61076 all must always try to avoid this, it has a really LARGE radius, it means he can not only damage but also SLOW anyone from far away

His other abilities aren't anything to be very concerned about, his https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=61085 does little damage and can be easily avoided

definitely soloable as a 80 resto druid, i took him to 70%, no raid gear, just hc / badge gear, 3 blue items. start with regrowth, rejuvenate and ONE lifebloom, go into bear, stack 5 lacerates, travel form, rinse and repeat. as i have less than 100str it took almost 20min to get him to 70%, but my mana never got under 80%. the reason i just got him to 70% is that i got bored and flew away.

Just soloed as a ret pally. Was pretty simple, just used my instant flash of light when it was up, and I did use the 2% health on crit rune. Finished the fight with 10k health and 1/2 my mana.

If you've got the bones to spare, getting all runes to solo this is nice. -5% damage, +5% damage, +15% speed (to avoid Whirlwind) and +2 health on crit runes helps alot. I soloed this as a fresh level 80 Warlock (SL/FG) in all quested or crafted gear (self buffed with food I'm only at around 1500 spell power with 105 Hit, 7.5% Crit, 101 Haste, 15k health).

I used the Voidwalker and threw up Siphon Life only for the first 40k or so damage (it takes awhile) to let my pet build up a lot of threat. Used Demonic Empowerment whenever it was up and right after using that I used the VWs AOE taunt (Suffering) to help him further build threat. After doing approximately 40k damage I just did my DoT rotation (Curse of Doom when needed, Siphon Life, Corruption, Shadow Bolt whenever Nightfall went off, Immolate) and then just Health Funnel on the pet while those counted down.

I only needed to Life Tap a few times the whole fight. My VW never had any mana issues and the Overthane only jumped on me once (at the beginning while I was getting at max range). Drain Life whenever I was getting about 75% health instead of my DoTs and then switch back to Health Funnel followed by DoTs. The only time you've got to move is when he casts Blizzard on you.

Soloed him quite easily as a resto shaman.

Dropped wrath of air, stoneskin, and mana totems, then started the event.

Soon as he was attack-able I hit him with frost shock and dropped searing totem. I meleed with flametongue and hit earth shock/flame shock as soon as they were off cooldown. Refreshed water shield and healed myself like crazy.

He hit me for ~2200 on 16k armor, 4k crits (those hurt). I managed to do around 450 dps and needed to maintain 1300 hp/s to avoid death.

I basically let searing totem, melee and the shocks do all the damage, as I didn't have time to cast lightning bolt as he hit too hard to stop healing very long. I just healed through the whirlwind as it didn't do too much damage and water shield kept my mana full at all times.

I took over 1.2 million damage over the course of the fight, which lasted around 12 minutes.

Bottom line: soloable by a moderately well geared resto shaman, but you won't be doing much dps and it WILL take forever. Bring a dps, ranged if possible and it is easy. You don't need 5 people, but even a 1200 dps partner will cut the time from 12 minutes to 2 or 3, with most of that being the stupid intermission.

Soloed as Holy Paladin....Barely...The hardest part is keeping mana up, I went in with a full array of buffs and kited him around. Blizzard hurts if you stay in it too long obviously, so stay out of that. Ran away from him during whirlwind as best I could and repeatedly used Holy Shock to keep me up and use Infusion whenever it procs. Seal of Wisdom at all times. DO NOT USE consecrate, obviously, since you'll be kiting him around so much, there's no point in wasting a single point of mana on a spell that wont do much damage and costs too much mana. I kept using sacred shield to soften the blows some and help with my FoL heals to keep myself up. Divine Plea as often as possible for more mana. The focus on the fight is mana conservation and pacing for pretty much ANY spellcaster. I'd hold off as long as possible on bubbles and potions because the cooldown wont allow for more than probably 2 bubbles during the fight and of course, 1 potion. Avenging Wrath is out of the question, that burst of DPS wont really make the difference in the fight and you're going to want to have the option to bubble up and not have to hope you don't die while waiting on Forbearance to end. This won't be a problem come 3.8 when forbearance gets removed from Avenging Wrath. The ONLY reason that I used Avenging Wrath was the cancel out the 20% healing reduction caused by Divine Plea and help my heals out while in a pinch. Save your Holy Light for whirlwind, that is where you'll need your biggest heals as you'll take a rapid amount of damage. Try to balance out Holy Shock between heals and damage as that is the biggest damaging spell we have as Holy and the second most powerful and only instant healing spell, our "oh $#!%" button as it were. You'll be using that a lot for healing while kiting. If you get caught in Blizzard and take movement reduction then use Hand of Freedom and get out quick. Damage switches mainly between judgments, Shield of Righteousness and Holy Shock. I advise keeping Seal of Wisdom up and judgment of wisdom, but if you're looking to add a little extra bite, then you can always make a quick switch to Seal of Vengeance, stack it up to 5, judge and switch back to Wisdom. I have a macro that makes it easy to do quick seal and judge switches

Phase One:

Put on any tanking gear you may have
Use a two handed weapon, you get bigger death pact heals this way
Keep up enough frost/unholy runes up to heal yourself throughout the fight
Use any damage reduction skills you may have, bone shield, icebound fortitude, anti-magic shield, anti-magic zone, etc. Be quick on the whirlwind

Phase Two:
You have around 35 seconds to rest, but you will remain in combat
*Heal yourself with any bandages/pots
*Repeat the process once the boss begins

Was a bit of a challenge, mostly because I was lacking healing abilities, but rune tap and Medallion of Heroism did the job just fine in combination with Death Strike.

I have a good strategy for any warlock to solo him, should be foolproof. Place a demonic circle on top of one the flat platforms bordering where the fight happens. Summon a voidwalker (felguard may also work), and blow on the horn. Stick your voidwalker on him, and teleport to your circle, making sure you are in range of your VW and the boss. From here, just dot the boss and health funnel your VW to keep him alive. If your VW dies, the boss will go into evade mode since he can't reach you, and he will despawn. The platform will protect you from the boss's leap and whirlwind attacks, and much of the frost breath. It will take a while to down him, but is very safe if you don't pull aggro. I don't know what happens if you do pull aggro. Good luck!

it is not such a good idea, i popped BL, Spirit Wolfs and Fire Ele at 1st engage, but all died from his swing, and after Lich King appears, i quickly eat food, but he just hits hard on a Mail user, cant be done alone, need 2 lv 80 to get this done

I soloed him as a 25-man geared resto druid. It took me three tries before I got it right. The entire fight took me 15 mins and 42 seconds to complete. I pretty much kept full HoTs on myself, wore max mana regen gear, and burned him down slowly by keeping a moonfire DoT up and occasionally casting wrath when I felt it was safe. I pretty much kited him constantly, especially during the whirlwind phase. A few times I popped into bear form while running away from the whirlwind. I used two innervates and a crazy alchemist's potion.

Not that hard. did it 2man as lvl 80 Elemental shammy (with full resto gear) and 78 enhancement shammy. The enhancement shammy got to try to have aggro as much as possible. if you keep some space between you, you can switch on holding the aggro so he have to walk between you. Just keep in mind to heal quick. he hits hard.

solo'd as PVE affliction Lock, bunch of 200 purples and a few pieces 213s, I'm sure it's doable with blues.
I'm in my usual raiding spec/gear/glyph, VW has 18K health (unglyphed), just let it tank. Tried twice, first time failed becaue he was whirling and suddenly jumpped on top of me.
just let VW tank, put curse of weakness on him, and siphon life to keep funneling VW for the first 20%. had to soul shatter once at around 75%, then start my usual dps rotation by 50%. Used demonic circle to teleport out of blizzard, the frost breath from the dragon wasn't a problem, unless you have aggro and he's whirling at you, but he didn't the 2nd time, so I got it finished.

Just soloed as a 80 holy paladin (mostly 10 man naxx and some 25 man naxx gear), fight took about 7 mins, full pve gear. Basically just judged and saved my holy shocks for him. I have enough crit that I'd almost always get infusion of light to instant cast flash of light myself and used holy light when he whirlwinded. Kept frost resist aura up for the blizzards and his frostbolts and just kited him around out of the the frost on the ground and easy enough to do, just took a while :)

Soloed this boss on the 2nd attempt as a lvl 80 DK (Blood raid dps build), it was hard as hell, burned all cooldowns, came close to death twice during the second phase but got a few lucky parrys and crits with death strikes, resulting in a victory.

If at all possible, bring friends along for this one.

Almost got him as a holy paladin, good geared. The reason I died was because I wasted mana and I forgot about Lay on Hands when I got really low in the end of the fight. He´s definitely soloable though, as long as you don´t waste mana like I did. Avoid the Blizzard, run away from his WW (not far though because of his his leaping ability which stuns you)

Basically use Holy Shock (be sure to balance it between damage and healing though) and Flash of Light, take good advantage of your Infusion of Light and try not to use Holy Light to much, use your bubble of doom if you need to and unleash your seals. It´s definitely soloable. Use Divine Plea as much as possible though if you get low on mana.

Solo'd as 80 elemental shaman. 4/5 t7.5 with Epic achievement. Pretty geared and experienced but still very difficult. Popped all CD's and fight took roughly 7 minutes. Pretty fun but it got really close at times. When he WW's you need to run away ASAP and stay out of frosty areas and blizzard. Other than that it does require a little luck.

Solo'd this on my 80 Druid balance in resto gear, all i did was dot him up then run around in circles applying lifeblooms and rejuvenation every now and then i chucked in a wrath and managed get a starfire off at 50%. Didnt use any pots or innervate so dont see what all the fuss is about :D

Possible, but very bloody slow.

Tried to caster dps/heal = fail
Tried to bear/heal = fail
Tried to dps using thorns in tree form while constantly healing = moderate fail but possible

I tried a couple of times, mainly because no one really wanted to lend a hand. In tree form, you are taking 2.5-3k hits. This is very easily healed through and as long as you keep running in circles around him, you can miss alot of whirlwind/blizzard. The last fight went for 15 minutes, and my thorns had done about 35k dmg, taking him to about 80%.

So if you have to solo it, it COULD be done. But your better off to find some dps and knock him over in less than an hour :)

Easily soloed as an 80 Unholy DK. Was in naxx 10/heroic level gear, but based on the ease, it could have been done with much weaker gear. Done in full dps gear, in frost presence. Made some use of death strike, with minimal cooldown use (no IBF, no Death Pact, not even bone armor past the initial one at the beginning), with no use of bandages, or potions. AMS was used for the frost bolts, and I would kite him out of the frost laid by his lackeys. This allows you better mobility in avoiding the whirlwinds. Never even encountered the heroic leap people are talking about, I`m guessing because I was soloing, and was never more than about 10 feet from him.

If you are doing this solo and using a pet to tank: do not be overly afraid of the whirlwind. It doesn't do much damage. In fact, as a warlock I found whirlwind a perfect moment to funnel my Felguard and drain life. Just keep in mind the Heroic Leap so make sure you avoid the white slowing stuff so you can get away from him if he does that (while whirlwinding even more so)

Holy crap, I totally solo'd him as 80 Holy Paladin, 1130 SP. Kept him judged with wisdom, seal of wisdom, blessing of wisdom about halfway through the fight. When he does whirlwind and you're not slowed, run away and use divine plea til he charges you. If you get in trouble, toss holy lights until full and resume just running around beating the &*!@ out of him. Use Sacred Shield often. Holy shock works well for yourself, but toss some his way when you're confident about mana. The fight took me about 12-15 minutes (I don't know how I lived).

It was quite easy to solo him as a holy paladin, just move away from his blizzard, and don't forget to heal. when you have low mana, just bubble and do divine plea and continue, when he is at 50% the lich king appears for about 30 secounds, divine plea is your only option during that time to gain mana, since you're in combat when he talks. ( or arcane torrent as blood elf ) use all useful cooldowns like divine illumination and avenging wrath, i picked retribution aura, since healers dps sucks. other useful aura's would be devotion aura or frost resistance aura.

Tips about the fight:

Blizzard: move away from it all the time when he casts it
whirlwind: you can't do that much, just heal alot when he does

wich classes can solo it?

Rogue = don't you even think about it :P

warrior = no

shaman = depends on spec (resto could manage to do it)

death knights = also depends on spec, but im not sure about it ( a well geared blood death knight, maybe)

mage = yes frost mage can, but be careful, since you have no armor xD

warlock = no, his dps is too high

hunter = no, your pet would die in 3 auto attacks :P

druid = if you are feral, skilled and geared

paladin = maybe all specs could do it i don't know, but prot and healer's im quite sure of

Tried to solo this as an 80 prot warrior, Gear is a mix of Naxx and the best pre naxx tank gear available.
By the time I got him to 50% I decided to shadowmeld out of combat and eat while the Lich king scene played on. Well apparently Blizzard has fixed it now so you cannot do so, they simply despawn now if you go out of combat (for soloing at least, I assume your whole group would have to do so for it to do the same on a grouped attempt).

As far as soloing him though if you spell reflect his casts on time, pull him out of the blizzard when he uses that and keep just out of his range for whirlwind. Love how these elites insist on getting their pets/mounts/guards to help them kill us :p

Soloed easily as an 80 affliction lock with a few points in Demonology (improved VW just for tanking). sent VW in to tank, i used health funnel to keep him up, kept dots up as needed. just watch your aggro and it's a very smooth fight. stay out of whirlwind range but not too far that he jumps and dazes you.

out of all the voiced apareances of the lich king, this one is by far the coolest one, he uses a completely diferent voice here.

I mean this voice is way better whan what u hear in his other aperances like in the scarlet enclave, or dragonblight, or zul'drak.

all in all, this is a fun quest, with a nice little show of the lich king on it.

I hope the voice used on this quest will be the permanent voice of arthas.

80 beastmaster hunter. Had never used a tenacity pet all that much before. When I saw the new major "Mending Pet" glyph (40% healing boost) I thought of the very old days when hunters could still use "+ healing" gear to solo group elites (albeit slowly). If our pet can tank it , of course, we can eventually kill it.

With dual specs available now and with this old quest having been in my quest log for so long I almost forgot it was there, I figured I'd use the second spec to try and max out a pet tank. Grabbed a level 80 worm in Storm Peaks. Included the mending pet glyph, max points in stamina, thick hide, and spirit bond in beastmastery tree. + Quickly used tenacity points wherever they looked like they might enhance survival and flew on up to take a crack at Balagarde.

My gear is far from elite, but it is OK I guess. Mostly a mix PvE, Rep, and PvP purples and blues. My trinkets are the darkmoon card greatness and the Mirror of Truth. I used a flask of chromatic wonder (for the 35% extra resistance) and a mega mammoth meal buff.

Was doing all of this in a hurry, so did not read about the fight beforehand. And my technique sucked in the first try and my pet died with the boss still at 149 thousand health. Feigned death - tried again. The first time I had wasted precious time waiting for Balagarde to attack. Could actually have gotten a hunter's mark up and sent my pet just before the boss stops talking - and I did the second time.

Pet died when the boss was at about 3500 health (and kill shot on cooldown); but a quick auto shot and arcane shot crit took him down. Was fun.

( in this fight, the ice attacks seemed to damage my pet the most. Seemed easy to heal him through the whirlwind)

An excellent example of how rogues are put at a disadvantage compared to other classes.

No way to self heal unless you count that stupid rune from the Bone Witch. (Bandages don't count.)
No pet.
No plate armor.
Evasion lasts 15 seconds and then you're screwed.
No fear.
No bubble.

What do we have? Stuns. And this guy is immune. I see lots of other classes able to solo this guy, but rogues simply can't.

Used my pvp spec for stam and just health funneled my voidwalker until he was down. Took about 10 minutes, but it's definately possible.

If you do it this way, dont go all out with your dots or you'll pull aggro. I only used haunt and corruption and had no issues at all.

Easily soloable as a feral druid in bear form.
Geared mainly from heroic epics, some naxx gear, 30k health.

Bought three runes from The Bone Witch (Unsurpassed Vigor, Nigh Invincibility, Baneful Intent), used all three, MotW and Thorns and called Balagarde.

Used Barkskin in the beginning, and everytime available (two times, as i remember).
At 50% life, The Lich King appears, and the battle pauses. Use this pause to heal yourself (one HT should solve your problem).
Move out from Blizzard and WW, and be carefull with the breath of the dragon.

At the end of the battle, i was almost at full health.

Easy for Unholy Death Knight. Just stock up on stamina till you have about 20k health. This way, your Death Strike will heal for about 3k health (with Crypt Fever). That's enough to keep you alive. Just AMS against blizzard/frost bolt when it's up.

Very easy solo for a feral druid in mostly Naxx level gear. I got the +/- damage and heal runes from the bone witch in case, but they werent needed. Never went below 90% health. The only thing he has that is even slightly dangerous to a bear tank is Blizzard, just walk backwards when he uses it. I ignored Whirlwind mostly, it didn't do very much damage.

Soloable as a level 79 Bloodspec DK (2handed) in Savage Saronite gear. Just hunker down in Frost Presence, use Rune Strike whenever possible, and keep diseases up, Death Strike when needed. CDs were used, some twice. If low on HP when the Lich King comes for the first time you can use Rune Tap twice before the fight resumes.

Solo'd as a prot warrior, not that great gear, mix of 10/25m Naxx, used my defensive CD's when I got trapped by the pet, other than that just move out of whirlwind and blizzard. And remember to watch out for the pets frost areas, they can be a pain if they come at the wrong time.

Used Army of the Dead at the start and tried to dps him down as much as i could.
Used Icebound Fort when he WW'd and i couldn't get out of it. Anti-Magic Shell when he used Frostbolt on me while i was away from him.
Applied diseases, Death Striked when i could to get health up.
At 50% i bandaged straight away, then just before he attacked again i managed to get another bandage off.
Didn't even need to use pots. Oh and i was in Blood Presence.
The fight wasn't too bad, you just have to be careful of his WW and Blizzard.

What I did (Tanking gear On)
Stats: 19hp
defence 472
Dodge 9.41%
Parry 11.93%
17621 Armor :

- Frost Presence is required because he hits so hard
- Everytime he starts casting run away pop AMZ and try to bandage
- All Runes from the bone Witch
- Cds needingly when neededly (runetap, IBF , VB + MoB)
- When no other options left Summon pet (make sure ya have 40 runic power) and death pact
- When he does his WW try to kite and spam icy touch and death coil
- Pop Anti-magic shell when ya need to for the frostbold (you can avoid blizzard)
- The aura is tricky but try to runbackwards while not turning ur back towards him

While Arthas comes and gives his little speech about where vard. has been top urself up with a bandage the event should take more then a minute so you have time for 2 bandages if required but I would recommend switching to blood presence for extra healing

Now just repeat what ya did earlier, I ended at 17k Hp and could have gone on for about a hour doing this its very reliable but nevertheless a challenge if ya havent Soloed other Elite mobs. Gl!

Btw this gives quite a rush compared to any other mobs you soloed its recommended!

Used Devo aura, Seal of Light, Judgement of Light and Sanctuary. When he does whirlwind or blizzard, move out of it. You have to move out of the frost thing on the ground too.

Fly to 18,56 on the top of the fortress and blow the horn

I put down a demonic circle but didn't need to use it.

Send in the VW and keep it healed. Used Omen to keep an eye on my aggro, most of the time you can get two dots up without getting close to an aggro pull on yourself. Mostly used haunt and corruption for heals. Balargarde throws down an AOE chill of ice crown which is just a debuff and not a damage spell, just walk out of it. He also throws down some ice shards for damage, also just walk out of it. His whirlwind was not an issue, I just stayed back just out of range for my curses and walked into range to apply dots then back out for health funnel. Took like 10 minutes. The Lich King shows up and seems a bit peeved about you killing his guys then returns at the end of the fight to threaten you again. Why doesn't he just kill you if he thinks your such a threat?

Anyway, a far easier fight than the unholy rider quest, simple aggro management and VW healing.

Solo-able as a prot paladin at naxx 10 level.

Keep kiting him out of the frost aura's the dragons that accompinied him place on the ground. & constantly back away. Make sure you keep HS & DP up at all times & heal if you get low, or switch to Seal of Light.

At the 1/2 way stage bandage up, but dont pop another DP until the Lich King tells him to finish you (the break is quite long & DP can expire).

So long as you keep kiting him & avoid the blizzard you can heal the whirlwind damage yourself with the Judgement of Light.

Not the easiest fights, but its about time challenges came along

Soloed as a Holy Pally in some 5 Man Trial of the Crusader epics and blues. Used Seal of Vengence + Shield of Righteousness, Kings, and Holy Shock to heal myself on nearly ever cooldown.

10 minutes fight, used Divine Shield twice, Divine Protection twice, Avenging Wrath twice, Lay on Hands once in hairy spot. Wasn't difficult, just long.

Managed to solo him on my second try as a BM hunter. The trick is to have your pet on passive and put him immediately on follow when Balargarde starts whirlwinding to get him the hell out of there. To have mend pet on constantly is a no-brainer.

That, along with having Glyph of Mending and using a tenacity pet with Blood of the Rhino should do it.

I did it with a turtle, they're hands down the best single target tanks due to Shell Shield, but it might be possible with another Tenacity pet aswell. Good luck.

Soloed as a 79 Prot Paladin. 22k HP, 542 def, 75% avoidance.

Long fight, but his general melee was pretty weak. Used LoH early (before I got the hang of kiting him), bubbled twice to heal/bandage. Used Seal of Corruption, Blessing of Sanctuary & Devotion Aura. One shot. Just kite him around in a big circle the whole time, not just when he starts to WW, so that it won't catch you off-guard and run the risk of it getting a couple hits in. If you end up backing into his Blizzard, just cut across the middle or reverse the kiting circle.

As with most group quests, this is easily soloable for any spec DK in tank gear.. even standing in his whirlwind & blizzard at the same time, the damage couldn't overcome the health i was getting back from Death Strike.

I wanted to add to what Nausicaan said...as an affliction lock.

I soloed this...after turning 80 about a week ago. 4-5 crafted epics...2200 SP with 2500 when lightweave embroidery procs.

VW tank....couple dots...

One VERY helpful thing is KEEP THE VW on him during the LK's speech...the aggro keeps building even though he's immune to all damage. This helped a ton in the 2nd phase...I was able to just burn him down easily as my VW had built up a bunch of aggro during the "speech".

We do it with team: 2 rogues + DK with frost presence as tank. One rogue die after 15 sec of start battle . Boss have arround 250k hp and it's pretty easy

My tips:

Watchout for blizzard spell ring on ground
When he chanelling WW run away from he
Arround 30-40% hp appear Lich King with mini dialogue
He's spellcasting is not interruptable so just keep you life bar on max level as it possible

It's part of chain allows you battle at Valhalas and boss on Valhalas is easiest than that boss.

Just soloed this as 80 Disc Priest. I have 4/5 t8.5 and one piece of t9 among other gear.

Basic strategy was to keep SW:P and Devouring Plague up at all times. Shield every cooldown and ProM every cooldown, keep renew up. Blow your Arcane Torrent at every chance if you're BE, it wasn't huge for me because you regen a lot while kiting him around, but just to be sure you don't go OOM do it. At about 50% of my mana I threw up Shadowfiend. Just strafe kite him at all times keeping dots up. Kite him about two yards away from the tip of his sword during whirlwind and he won't hit you or leap at you. Dispell frostbolt slow immediately. I saved Desperate Prayer and Pain Suppression for instances where the drake would frost the ground while he was whirlwinding. Had a few close calls, but get to range and get a quick penance off and you should be ok. Not very easy, took 15 minutes.

Soloed as a lvl 80 prot pally in a mish-mash of blues and purples. Used one of each of the Bone Witch runes along with standard buffs. The first time I tried it I had worse gear and fewer buffs, and almost pulled it off...but not quite. This time it was much easier, but still no walk in the park. Had to Lay on Hands once, but that was mostly due to the bad luck of being caught in a blizzard while he was whirlwinding me. Took a few minutes...remember to refresh your Sacred Shield! I forgot, and I'm sure the fight would have gone smoother had I not.

How to solo as Moonkin Druid?

Yes it is possible. Have high spellpower and average crit, I had 2070 sp and 24%. Take all basic talents which increase damage. Also it's good to have treants but only summon them after a whirlwind, or else they are wasted. My treants contributed to 50k dmg of 252k total. Typhoon is a mana-waste. Nature's Splendor talent is very important to have. Glyph of moonfire helps a lot too.

My strategy was kind of like: Sound the horn, wait for the guy to land, he takes 5-10 seconds pause, roll up every heal-over-time spell you have on yourself. Then switch to moonkin form before he charges and stuns. Now he is on you, keep up faerie fire, moonfire and insect swarm as much as possible. When your health is at 30-40%, heal yourself with all dots again and keep moving away from him.

Remember to keep moving away from him and avoiding the frost auras on the ground. When on full health, nuke few wrath's on him. When he whirlwinds run from him, heal up with hots if you are out of range. Don't run into the frost on ground. Use barkskin whenever possible. At 50% there is a very welcome long pause in battle, don't overheal, gain as much mana as possible from mp5, you can't drink in combat. Use innervate early in the fight, you will need it 2 times atleast.

Did this yesterday on my Boomkin with a Disc Priest and Death Tank helping me. Easily downed the boss, wasn't too hard, just nuked him while the tank kept threat and the Priest did his nails.

I had never looked at a guide for this quest chain, so it was a shock when (spoilers) the Lich King showed up. I gotta say, his introduction was chilling. The voice acting was some of the best I've ever heard. A video game hasn't scared me that much since I played Doom 3 back when I was a wee lad. The fury in the Lich King's voice when he yelled "You think you can fool ME?" made me want to run away screaming like a little girl and hide somewhere in a dark corner.

soloed as disc priest but with coloseum gear i have 30 k mana and i had to use a pot and shadowfied.
Power infusion when it was on cd and pain suppression twice. Avoid blizzard and the ice on the floor. It took me 7 mins.

Solo'd this quite easily as an arena specced resto-swarm druid in mostly deadly/furious.

I used travel form or cat form sprint from whirlwinds and ice patches, and just keep moon fire, insect swarm up at all times while wrathing regularly.

I had to innervate, but was never in any real danger.

Soloed today as a Ret Pally. It took me 2 tries because a druid kept attacking me mid-fight the first time I tried. (I watched him try to solo it twice and fail hard. So, I wouldn't recommend this quest to solo to any 78 druids. =D )

Interesting fight. I got lucky though. I had just got out of a battleground so I had a lot of extra buffs. (i.e. fort, gotw, etc.) I had to pot / healthstone that I picked up from the BG, LoH, Avenging Wrath and Divine Shield. The beginning was pretty simple just keep your health up, and stay out of whirlwinds. Once the frost starts being layed down it gets harder to stay away from his whirlwinds.

Just soloed this as a 79 Tankadin, 540 def, 21.8khp self buffed. Pulled out all the stops, but as long as you're smart you should be able to do it. I used dual 96969 macros for this fight, so it wasn't exactly complicated. Argent Defender is essential to this fight but if you're a Tankadin there's no reason you wont have this talent anyway.

I used Blessing of Sanctuary/Seal of Light while judging Wisdom on him throughout the fight as well as all 5 rune buffs from the Bone Witch. I'd go as far as to say that the 15% movement speed buff is essential for kiting his whirlwinds.

Simply back off when he begins to cast Blizzard and it shouldn't ever hit you. When he whirlwinds, back off and kite him to avoid as much damage as possible. Try to avoid the Ice Trap-like effects that get placed on the field as they make avoiding the whirlwind extremely hard and cannot be ignore through Hand of Freedom.

During the Lich King portion of the fight use a bandage to conserve mana, and be sure to re-apply Divine Plea as it will have worn off during the event (Not too early though, wait till the Lich King is leaving before reapplying).

I found that I sat on 10-25% health for a good portion of the fight. Didn't bubble once, but used Lay on Hands/Runic Health Pot near the end after going below 10% just to be safe.

very easy if you disarm him, move away from the blizzard, use your enrage regen and use a bandaid when the lich king speaks.

I did this to 12% as lvl 79 retri paladin using all the bone witch runes, bok and food buff. Would have downed it since I still had loh unusable, but got disconnected from the server and turned out to be dead when logged back.

It's still doable using all of your AoW procs to heals.

Failed twice to solo this guy as an 80 BM hunter. I didn't even have time to think. The cat and I both went down in seconds. I double-checked my specs, actions, etc. and tried again and gained oh about two extra seconds.

Most definitely a group project.

Just duo'd him. Protection Warrior/Discipline Priest. Took a few minutes, but never felt any strain, even standing in the ice and and taking whirlwind hits. Pre-Naxx gear.

Just solo'd as an 80 Survival hunter with most T9 and 8.5 gear. Wolf died about halfway through, but was able to res and heal him up while the Lich King was giving his speech. The only real strategy was to stay at max range to avoid his whirlwind, and try to stay out of the "frost traps" laid down by his drake. Came close to dying towards the end, but Lady Nightswood tosses you a couple heals.

Ok, wow, this quest is friggin' COOL. With that said...

Easily completed with Affl Lock and IMP VW using Fel Armor. Just cast Haunt, Immolate and CoA and keep them up (important as they don't crit or heal you excessively) and otherwise Health Funnel your VW (with my life tap glyph it making it fun and rewarding to lifetap before each Haunt). Easy. He'll charge you randomly but goes back to vw. I used my soulshatter once (probably didn't need to but he hits like a truck and was worth it imo, lol) I didn't bother moving myself or my pet away from the dragons snare.

When he hit 50% got a nice chance to let my fel armor heal me to full health. And listen to the COOL dialogue. Then just rinse and repeat. When he got to around 20% with my VW at full life, I unloaded everything and Drain Soul'd his ass for 11k ticks. Was very satisfying, lol. GL!

so !@#$ed off right now. the quest bugged on me twice. all of a sudden i cant health funnel my pet any more "target is out of sight" or sum such.

should otherwise be easy to solo and straight forward for any lock. the damage is not massive but yea, if you cant heal your pet... you re boned.

Soloed as 78 level DK, mix of tanking and dps gear. As Unholy i brought him to the moment when the Lich King appears, but it was quite difficult. After respeccing to Blood, it was still hard, but I managed to kill him in the end.
The main problem when soloing that as a melee is to make sure that you are not standing on the frozen ground when he starts whirlwinding, since only then you can move faster than he does when spinning (and you d like to stay away from him at those moments). To achieve that, better to fight him close to the edges of the tower, and never stay in the middle. Remember that he is still able to jump to you, even if whirlwind is still up.

I also soloed this some time ago on my BM hunter, with turtle, and t5(2). Not hard at all, but better to indeed call back the pet when he starts whirlwinding (just like succamehu sayed). Master's Call is a good way to do it.

For those of you concerned about getting this done before 80... it can be two-manned. A friend and I solo'd it today as a level 79 Blood-spec DK and a lvl 77 Ret pally. The pally did most of the healing and aided in dps to the DK, and we just kited him around the area out of the frost patches. Not easy, but still an enjoyable fight!

Soloed as a lv80 Hunter in mostly lv200-219 epics/blues, with a Turtle tanking. Keep misdirecting on every cooldown and keep Mend Pet ticking. Pretty simple.

Wow has become so easy these days.
Soloed this guys and the guy in the previous quest as a feral in blues and some epics. Fellow druids, don't bother getting help for this quest, and the end of the fight I had 100% hp.

I just got around to soloing it, and it was pretty much a cake walk for me-two piece t10 plus Bryntroll makes for an easy fight-but I have to add my voice to the people commenting on the Lich King's voice in the event in the middle of the battle. Of all his appearances in the game, even including Halls of Reflection, the Lich King has never sounded more malevolent, more evil...simply put, he sounds bad ass. You owe it to yourself to do this quest someday, it's awesome.

just finished solo'ing this as a level 80 affliction/demo lock,
wearing my pvp gear and 54/17/0 spec'd

made a demonic circle in the middle of the surface and walked to the outer places.
basicly i just dotted him and drain life'd through the damage, and when he used whirlwind i would try walking away but if it wasnt possible i would use my demonic circle to get away, and used the same thing when the white stuff got put down by the drakes flying above.

in my pvp gear at least, i didnt take much damage, i could easelly stand still with his auto-attack, frostbolts and the aoe coming down from him, my drain life would pretty much heal me through.

one shotted him this way. :)

Soloed as bm hunter at lvl 79. It was very lucky fight for me, I got him to 5k, and then I was at 2k, I was like "noo stop dont come here" so he hitted me, I dodged the last hit and BUM kill shot, my pet died when he was at 25k ~ so yes, it is very hard quest.

Solo'd at 79 on my Warlock as Metamorphosis/Ruin spec (with Mana Feed and Improved Health Funnel) with Felguard, me with 13k HP/MP and the FG with about 12k HP. Kept DoTs on him, funneled to my FG to keep it up weaved with Drain Life when it was necessary. Not too difficult, didn't use a healthstone or potion. Took me 5 min 20s to get him down.

I tried soloing in my Shadow Priest spec, wearing the triumph t9 gear. I got to the Lich King dialog with little effort but then my dungeon finder queue popped so i didnt get to finish the fight. Now it seems every time i try to fight him it gets worse. My second attempt got pretty close to the dialog but not quite. My 3rd and 4th attempts sadly only last a couple of swings from him. Its weird cause my bubble held out great the first time i tried, but on every other attempt he pretty much takes my shield down with one swing.

I tried switching to disc spec, for which i have several t9 pieces, and that got me through the LK dialog part. He still managed to drop my hp faster than i could heal though... that WW is so potent against cloth armor! Im gonna give it up now cause its already cost my like 40g in repair costs to my gear. :(

Soloing seems doable, but not easy as a priest.

Soloed as 80 troll enh shaman in t9 gear/WotLK 5man heroic drops + enchants

Phase 1: Earth elemental, shmanistic rage, berserker, Mark of Supremacy ap boost, lightning shield. Used SoE,FT,HS, and WF totems. Maelstrom weapon for heals if needed, otherwise lightning bolt.

Phase 2: Earth elemental was still up, wolves, bloodlust, Mark of Supremacy ap boost, and Shamanistic Rage. Same totems as above and same strategy for Maelstrom weapon.

Also for both phases, try and have Flame Shock up so u can hit him with Lava Burst for a nice crit when u have to move away from his Whirlwind.

My wolves and Bloodlust were still up when he died, so that should give you some idea of how fast Phase 2 went, and Phase 1 wasn't much longer. Good Luck!

Soloed as elemental shaman with an odd mix of ele and resto gear, around ToC10 level.

Was a tricky, but fun fight, that involved a lot of self healing. I started off with earth elemental totem, and used fire elemental totem when earth ele expired. I popped bloodlust somewhere halfway through as well. As many others said, try getting out of the frost area. I had to pop a potion once because I was unable to get out of the frost, and took blizzard and a whirlwind at the same time.

Solo'ed as Prot Warrior 4.5 Gear Score, just move away from the Whirlwind and stay outta the ice traps. Keep shield block up and use Enraged regeneration after he talked with the lich king. You can also pop Shieldwall from start, so that it might be cooled for the next phase.

I managed to solo this boss with a hunter, and like to share my technique...
My gearscore (with gearscore addon) was 4916 at the time. I used a spec that focussed on Beast Mastery and I used a Worm for a pet. You can find those worms in the North-East of Borean Tundra.
In your talent tree it's important to have a few auto-heal talents, such as Spirit Bond. My Worm had a few auto-heal talents too. Now the worm is one of the most ideal pets to use as a tank, and that's exactly what it has to do, you will be DPS as well as a healer (Mend Pet).

Use Hunter Mark, a good gun (I used a blood weeper from FoS) with good ammo (I used Shatter Rounds). As soon as the fight starts send your pet to it, use Hunter Mark and shoot like crazy, but keep your pet's health under control and keep using Mend Pet if needed. The ice on the ground won't do much. If lucky you only got to heal your pet and will receive no damage yourself, but if your pet dies, you're a goner. Use the Lich King's break to heal up and use Aspect of the Viper then to refill mana, and switch back to DragonHawk as soon as combat resumes.

The strategy is not waterproof, but leaded me into victory in only two attempts with my hunter undamaged in my second attempt.

Easily solo'd just now as a T10 Shadow Priest, 3050 Spellpower before procable buffs, can hit as high as 4400 SP solo when things like Lightweaving, Trinket, etc proc.

Put up renew, put up Prayer of Mending and Shield, he barely broke thru it. I hit 70% HP once... then the fight stopped for more dialogue

He has 252 000 HP and the fight stops for dialogue when he has about 112k.

Basically just keep on the move and spam death strike. Rune tap if you get low on hp.

Solod as a frost mage in s6-s7 pvp gear don't make the same mistake I did and pop second set of cds right before lich king interrupts.

Keep ward/barrier up every cd make sure you use deep freeze on fingers of frost the damage is huge.

Don't go through the slow patches keep him kited and stall.

I used all cds coldsnap mirror image and had to stall for another set of image/ele/veins. The images/ele tank insanely well because he does a ton of aoe damage. On your second ele pop it then go invis so it gets agro then back to max range before plowing damage into him.

Very easy as a shadow priest in pvp gear (mostly furious with relentless offpieces). Just dot him up and kite him, keeping power word shield up as much as possible. Pop out and heal yourself if you get low.

Soloable as a Ret paladin with avg ilevel 203 gear (1 piece t9, triumph badge ring, with the rest blues and purples from heroics). I did use a food buff, the healing rune, and the increase damage rune to make the fight easier.

Use Kings, Devo Aura, SoL, and JoW. Keep Sacred Shield up and just whack away, moving out of the blizzard, the frost patches, and the whirlwind. It was easy to keep myself up with SoL, healing rune, and AoW/FoL. The only time I had a slight problem was when I ran too far from him when he's whirlwinding and he used Heroic Leap. Even then, my hp only went down to about 50-60%. Of course, heal up as needed during the break and continue whacking away with the occasional heals after the fight continues. Didn't need to pop any cooldowns at all.

Stats: 21934 HP, 3519 ap, 23.85% crit, 14827 armor.

Its at about (17, 56) fly to the very top of the building and blow on the horn.

Here is what he does:
1) Ice bolts
2) Blizard
3) Puts ice on the ground (looks like that hunter's trap)
4) Whirle wind (spinning blade atack)
5) Heroic strike (jump in the air at a party member stuning them and doing damage).

Lots of HP. At 50% you get a break with the lich king saying a few words, but you would still be in comabt mode so you can not eat food. Combat will continue after a few mins of talking.

2/1/2023 I tried this guy at 78 level with BM hunter, i can say a decent player can do it at this level, but an average like me may be not.
So i returned at 80, pet is a swine I got in Elwynn Forest and became my buddy since, full Swiftarrow Battlegear, Bow of Bone and Sinew and Terrorshaft Arrow as ammo, four runes from The Bone Witch except the speed one, and a cheap food buff. Make sure to put your pet on passive during Blizzard and Whirlwind to avoid heavy damage and keep Mend Pet up all time, you will have to change Aspect of the Dragonhawk to Aspect of the Viper a couple times

Almost got it in the first try but i delayed mend pet for a moment and i couldn't get my pig to heal back, on the second try i applied Viper Sting right on pull and then kept Balargarde mana starved with it, flawless. Got him on the second pull as 80.
