With the changes to Prayer of Healing in 3.1, This talent seems much more viable since Prayer of Healing with now be much more useful. I am seriously considering taking this talent along with Holy Reach over Test of Faith (3 Points) and Inner Focus (1 Point).

20% Cheaper is quite a big saving, and as a general rule x% Cheaper Spells gives you an overall higher greater overall HPM (Healing per Minute) than a talent that increases healing done or a spellpower bonus.

As an example:
Say you can cast Prayer of Healing 10 times untalented for 1000 health per target each time before you run out of mana.
Thats a total of 10,000 Healed with no talent bonuses

Now with a talent that increases healing done by 10% (Let's say Spiritual Healing) that would be 11,000 Healed with Spellpower bonus, but still 10 casts (Higher Heals per Second).

Now with a talent that reduced the cost of your Prayer of Healing by 20% you could cast it 12 times. That is 12,000 healed over 12 casts (And offering another 10 chances to critical hit a target)

So to sum it up:

Untalented - 10,000 healed
Spellpower Boosted - 11,0000 Healed
Mana Cost Reduction - 12,000 Healed

Just to clarify some issues between HPS vs HPM as well:

Heals per Second (short periods of burst healing) will benefit from spellpower and casting speed more than mana efficiancy (Spamming Flash Heal rather than Greater Heal is a good example of this)
Endurance fights lean towards Heals per Minute (Long Periods of regular healing) and will prove more effective than having a higher HPS.

This example does not seem like much, but scale it up. How much do you heal on an average encounter? 500,000? 1,000,000?, More? It's a big difference when you look at the big picture.

I'm actually going to go out on a limb here and be the odd one out to say that I liked this talent before 3.1--that is to say, I didn't need 3.1 to convince me to get this.

I love PoH for its sheer proccing potential of some of my other talents (Inspiration, Surge of Light, etc.). When I get the chance to use it properly, it is the most mana-efficient of my healing spells. This talent made that even more true then, and now that I can use it on members who aren't necessarily in my immediate group, it's even better. PoH is finally getting the love it deserves, and it now has the targetting protocol that CoH has. It's beautiful.

Even if PoH was still limited in this patch, the other aspect of the talent benefits one of my other healing faves--Prayer of Mending. As much as I throw that around (incredibly mana-efficient but situational), it only feels right to give it the treat of costing less.

I was miffed by the lack of comments before this patch, and I'm still miffed that it took this patch just to make people acknowledge this talent. But whatever. Welcome to the light. You've finally seen it.

As no one has stated here are the mana costs for my Dwarf Priest before and after talent :-)

Prayer of Healing:
1854 Mana -> 1483 Mana

Prayer of Mending
579 Mana -> 463 Mana

This talent seems to give both spells very competitive mana costs. Flash Heal + Glyph costs 625 Mana for Holy Specs, and Circle of Healing costs 811 Mana.

With holy fast becoming more and more raid healing focused, this talent goes a long way to improve our strengths, and eases the pain of having to cast Prayer of Healing, our most expensive healing spell apart from Divine Hymn.

It just recently occurred to me that serendipity reduces POH (prayer of healer) cast time as well as Greater Heal.

The way I see it there are two different types of holy priests: Those who are instant cast focused and those who are G-heal focused.

If you use a G-heal spec then it would be worth putting 2 points into this talent for the sake of using POH when Circle of Healing is on cool down or you have 3+ players in the same party to heal.

I actually like this talent more than "improved healing" since it's a massive mana reduction to POH and aids POM(prayer of mending). Improved healing only really helps G-heal since nobody uses lesser heal or heal anymore and D-hymn is usually used with Inner Focus and has a long cool down

So ya, get this talent if plan to get serendipity
