The priestess is at the very top of the city. It's a good idea to go get the hammer for ZF from the Altar of Zul before doing this quest. The priestess patrols around the altar needed to enchant the ZF mallet. In addition, Elder Torntusk is on the altar. Finishing the next part of his quest requires going into the cave behind the altar, which is where you can finish killing all the guards needed to complete this quest. You can kill several birds with one stone if you play it right.

Fighting the priestess, I was able to do it with a 54 shaman and 49 shaman. She likes to polymorph you, and the spell won't break from damage nor will it cause you to regenerate. She also uses Shadow Word: Pain, so be ready with some heals. Be sure to take out the nearby guards and dogs before pulling her, she will run once her health gets low.

I don't see that anyone has added that this is a Horde only quest since you can't turn it in to a Horde NPC if you are Alliance. The rewards are excellent and if you would really like to cry, look up Rune of the Guard Captain. That is one of the finest trinkets for melee class and is also a Horde only quest.

Neck is best for melee-class twinks, and the cape is best for caster twinks at lvl of 49.

In 2.3, this quest is now to kill 10 guards and Hexx, and the guards aren't elite any more, so this isn't classified as a group quest. Both rewards are top notch.

Solo'd as a poorly geared 48 Frost Mage. She likes to chain Hex you and heal herself which is annoying. Had to blow Cold Snap and two Ice Blocks (to get out of Hex to counterspell her heals) to kill her.

This was the most annoying quest I ever did as a Shadow Priest, lvl51. She constantly hexes you! I barely had time to silence her once, cast SW:P then I got hexed again. I almost kicked my computer.

I didn't die, but she's really really fast on the hexing. Just make sure you put the PW:S on you and keep SW:P-ing her. If you get the chance, Silence :)

i completed this with my 46 rogue.... just pull them out one by one, and if u aggro more than one guard, just sprint to one of the fountains at the top of the stairs and swim farthest you can away from the shore.... also, i used my "Insignia of the Horde" for her polymorph/hex.... again, not a hard quest, reccomend this along with that saving elder torntusk quest

53 Warrior, couldn't solo it. I was literally hex'd for the WHOLE fight. I was going to Pummel the first cast but it's evidently an instant cast so that didn't really help.

Really frustrating since literally RIGHT before this a hunter solo'd her. At least he stuck around to help me.

As a druid, this can be pretty tough if you don't know a few certain things, or if you happen to be resto/oomkin.

It took me five tries to figure out that, yes, shifting to bear or cat or any form breaks her hex. :) So remember to use that when it happens.

I did this at lvl 46 as moonkin, so thats one reason why it was so tough for me.

On the fifth try, I shifted to bear when I got hexed and it broke it. Bash, shift out and heal, root, rejuv, regrowth & innervate. (she kept resisting EVERYTHING) then of course, she killed me.

My suggestion: Wait until you've gained a level (or two, depending) before you try it, unless you have a friend. Otherwise, she resists every spell of yours. Ferals shouldn't have that much of a problem though. Good luck.

Soloed this as a level 50 sword spec rogue. I found her near the altar roaming around without any adds - just popped Blade Flurry, Evasion, and Adrenaline Rush and she went down real fast, no problems. Judging from how fast she went down, I definitely think I overdid it on the cool downs. :-)

I've done this and about 4 other quests in this area and I have had enough! Not going back! Not a fun place. These guys aggro fairly fast and maybe it's me, but I just had an awful time finding my way around.
My main is a hunter and I miss tracking.
This quest was not as bad as I thought it would be. When you go to find the key in the cave, the holder is pretty far back there.
When I came upon them it looked like there were 4 all together.
But there is one that separated from the others.
I was able to pull that one and then there were 3. I sent pet to key holder and dotted her up, feared another and DC another.
Got the key with most of my life.
Then the long treck back out. /sigh

Nice reward, as a 46 lock, I took the cloak.

The coords for her are roughly 59,77.

As a lvl 50 protection paladin I had some trouble with her hex ability, since it is an instant cast and I only have 1 bubble. My advice to other protection paladins is to cast Seal of the Crusader and judge it, then cast Seal of Righteousness and judge that as many times as possible, using hammer of wrath when she has low hp is also really nice.

If you have trouble finding 10 guards, I reccommend going into the cave that is behind her, there you can find plenty of guards.

Soloed as a 49 ret pala ... took her and 1 guard as an add... pretty easy ... i used ingsia of the horde for the 1st sheep and then i bubbled .... luckily enough i critted her and then hammer of wrath ... pretty easy ... the reward is beautifull

Can't solo with mine 48 Rogue. She non-stop turned me into frog. In one try I push her to around 250 hp, but she hexed me and she heals yourself. The loot is pretty nice so I'm pretty sure to back there in 50-51 level.

Soloed as a 47 Frost Mage.

When getting out of the tunnel, start casting frostbolt. She was at 30% when she hexed me, just Ice Block and continue. I counterspelled her heal and that was pretty much it.

Solo'd as lvl 50 Protection Paladin .. sort of. Upon first entering the altar area where the quest NPC is chained I saw Hexx standing nearby. I aggroed and fought her with normal melee and spells and she turned me into a frog and I was unable to break it. She kept hitting me and damaging me while I was a frog. When it broke she immediately re-hexxed me into a frog again. When that broke I was able to unleash a Seal of Justice (x% chance to stun the target for 2 seconds) which it did stun her and that probably saved me from being hexxed a third time. She became low on HP and began to cast a heal but a Hammer of Justice interrupted. SoJ stunned her a second time which probably saved me from another hexx and I was able to melee her a few more times to her death. I completed the quest at the altar and picked up the new one to get the key somewhere in the cave. That was not too difficult to do.

But, on the way out of the cave I saw that Hexx had respawned and i would have to fight her again. I aggroed and she pulled a mob with her. This time she kept me hexxed as a frog constantly. Every time it broke she would immediately recast. If I remember correctly she hexxed me into a frog a total of 7 times, combined with the fact that she and her add were hitting me the whole time as a frog and I could not fight back she utlimately ended up killing me.

To complete the quest, I did the corpse run from the graveyard but did not rez right away. I stayed as a ghost and watched for a minute and noticed that she does not always stay at the altar but sometimes walks back to the entrance to the cave. I waited and after a minute she walked to the cave entrance, I rezzed, threw on a quick heal, ran to the altar, clicked on quest giver to complete and ran out. Quest complete. IMO this was not a fun quest. I compare it to running up to a mob and then just standing there and doing absolutely nothing while the mob beats you to your death. This quest felt like I was doing just that. As for the quest rewards, both are nice but I took the cloak for the +12 spell power.

tried to solo her on my 49 frost mage...failed. was hexed 95% of the time got mad and got my 80 lock friend to help, so yea i suggest taking 1 or 2 more with ya ;)

im a level 48 undead rogue....sap first, then blind , then ghoslty strike, and sinister strike....you know have 4 combo points to rupture with....rupture is the key...she hexed me twice...have a potion ready and your sinister strike...rupture when hex wheres off so she takes damage while you are a frog...it also helps to be a herbalist (easier to use the lifeblood to heal) you have to be quick

Honestly how do u guys think this is hard... on my 48 fire mage I 4 shotted her, I just used pyroblast then fireball then fire blast and she tried to heal, I counterspelled then used scorch and she was dead. She didn't polymorph me once

just solod on a 50 fury warrior on my second attempt. got killed 1st time due to the polymorph but second attempt all i did was stay in battle stance and keep rend up.

All I can say about this quest is Jeebus! She's annoying.
My first attempt at attacking her didn't go down too well as I completely forgot about her tendency to spam polymorph you and then heal whilst you're running about croaking. As a result of this, I ended up aggroing a couple of the guards which lead to me dying :|
My second attempt was much better. I made sure I had Seal of Justice active and got my self a nice safe distance from her (after making sure I'd cleared most of the mobs around the area). I used Hand of Reckoning to pull her and give her some damage, hit her with an exorcism, and prayed one of my attacks would stun. I smacked her with a Judgment spell, gave her a whack with my sword and hallelujah! I managed to stun her just as she was about to polymorph me. I smacked her with another exorcism which brought her down to about 25% health, hit her with a Hammer of Justice as she came out of that Stun and put her into another one, brought down another Judgment on her and finished her off with Hammer of Wrath.

I soloed easy as a lvl 48 shammy, but didnt get pollymorphed. When I was coming back after doing the quest from the dude on the alter I died to her twice. Very anoying but if you have some good burst you should be able to solo

Soloed easily as 49 SV hunter, didn't even give her time to hex me. Clear out the guards if possible first, makes things a lot simpler. Interrupts are your friend, as with any caster (Belf racial in my case). A lovely necklace to go with the trinket from the Revantusk guard captain quest.

Solo'd as a lvl 47 retadin. I do have herb so lifebloom was a life saver. Constant hexing/poly is still there and had a couple times I could get off a holy light or 2. bubbled once and potted, and had to pull LOH as well.

was a massive pain in the rear to do. still awards 8800 exp at 47

Soloed as a 46 Protection Warrior. I failed 1st attempt when a guard added and she basically hexed me to death. 2nd attempt, I cleared and got her solo. She only got a chance to hex me once.

I had that problem too. When I clicked the "Accept" button some error message popped up, and I noticed it said there was a problem with my MobMap addon...

Logged out, disabled, logged on, and accepted =).

If it displays an error message, check the addon and disable it temporarily.

After finishing this quest, the guard captain one, the elder torntusk one, and the dark vessels one solo as a lvl 47 hunter, with not one pet or self death, all i can say is...BM HUNTERS FTW!

The mobs arent elite now, but I had to kill Hexx twice (respawn after grabbing the key for torntusk). She was hell on 1st try---i aggrod a wolf, and i was kept hexed the whole damn time---but survived with 1/4 health. 2nd time she was cake. only hexed my pet.

I accidentally aggrod 5 lvl 50-51s on my way out of the cave...survived with a heal pot and a lucky mend pet as mana regened in time.

But...it was SO worth it...trinket necklace bow and loooads of XP!

I would suggest not soloing this till 50, unless youre a BM or Surv hunter(probably a lock could do it...fear might cause issues though...but a marks hunter may have problems, these guys close to melee range fast and then Intimidation or being good at melee-trap like Surv hunters is needed.)

A healer or semi-healer could probably handle it, but there's often 3+ pulls. Pets or minions help a lot then.

Side note: this gave me 75% of my XP, without doing Separation Anxiety. =)

Basically impossible to solo under 50 if you cant dot it or don't have a pet. She keeps you hexxed as a frog and beats you the entire time. Might get lucky. As a 47 shammy i got her to 75% quick then she constantly frogged me and healed until i died. Having the ability to heal yourself doesn't help much since you will never be able to cast it.

Soloed this yesterday as a level 48 Ret pally.

The key here is that even though your character will -- not might, but WILL -- be running around as a frantic little toad, you need to stay calm. Use that time to plan your next attack and be ready to spring into action the very instant the polymorph ends. And act fast, because she'll hex you again really fast.

Stun/silence spells are very helpful here. When she's helpless, use that time to heal yourself, and do some damage of your own. DoT spells are also your best friend. As a pally, I laid down Consecration whenever I could, so while she was chasing my little toad self all over, she was still taking damage.

And Blood Elves, don't forget Arcane Torrent. It might only last for two seconds, but that's two seconds longer than you would normally get with her.

Solo'd it easy at level 46 Hunter.

Sent my pet in and used Bestial Wrath and Intimidation. I set an immolation trap on the target and freeze trap on one of the others.

Used aspect of the hawk then when low in mana switched to aspect of the viper. Volley was useful too.

Good quest.

It starts in Raventusk, at a billboard that has Wanted posters on it. The billboard is next to the stable master, who is across the way from the inn. Watch out for the 432 damage-per-tick dot the priestess has...

Did this as a 49 Prot. Pally and it was a tough go. Make sure you have your shadow resistance aura on. You will still spend most of your time as a frog. I had seal of wisdom judged on her and blessing of wisdom. You should manage to have enough mana to bubble and heal. Eventually she'll just get sloppy and neglect to heal herself. When she's around 30% stun her and hit her with everything. It's worked for me 3 times now...

Took her down twice with 3 toons. L49 pally, L50 Warrior and L51 'lock. No sign of any frogging and no real problems. Maybe we just got lucky (for a while). Total wipe later that we couldnt recover from getting the key from the caves. lol. Top necklace.

As of patch 2.3 these mobs are no longer elite. XP amount has been increased both for kills and rewards. Easily soloable for really nice pre-BC necky or cloak.

mages you should find this easy as 123
level 51 fire mage, just as i was about to go for her some level 47 dwarf paladin decided to have a go so i left him to it he didnt really do anything to her (feel sorry for you mellers:( but hey he was a dwarf so what do you expect:P) got killed quickly
anyway what i did just incase theres some firemages out there:
maximum range, combustion , pyroblast , fireball, fireball (became dazed), fireball then finished off with blast wave no problem didnt even hit me nor did she get a chance to cast a spell, killed her 2xs as i had to go get the key for the shakle for the tomtusk quest, any mellers i suggest you bring a mage along if you want a quick quest completion , also alot of the guards you have to kill for the quest are located in the cave behind her, beware mobs theres a fare few wonders inside the cave and its hard to see round the corners and slopes

You can start the quest at the Wanted sign, next to the stable master guy. It's a big billboard. Also gives you the quest to kill other elite trolls in the same area as the priestess.

Let me get this straight: There is NO way for the alliance to obtain this cloak? Since it's one of the best cloaks a caster can ever hope for... Pretty disappointed if this beauty is horde-only...

OK, this tart is tough.

She casts an instant frog polymorph & has a ~2 sec heal which'll give her 1/3-1/2 her health back. Neither appears to have a cooldown. Her melee damage is nothing that'll phase a good tank, but is enough to smash up a caster pretty well. She will continue to attack you while you're polymorphed - she managed to kill my tank pally by simply keeping me polymorphed virtually non-stop for a couple of minutes and slowly chipping away at me.

She is *not* immune to stun/silence, and that'd be one way to deal with her. Your other option would simply be to run her out of mana via drains or via having enough healers to survive till she goes dry.

This is definitely one for a druid tank if you want to go for the standard tank'n'spank approach, and a stun heavy rogue would be a valuable addition.

I have also killed her in the past in a group of 3 hunters - didn't have much to stop her healing - 2 had scattershots, but were severely limited by her lack of a heal cooldown - but the sheer weight of DPS from 3 separate directions combined with occasional feigning to transfer aggro amongst ourselves was enough to narrowly take her down.

this chick has killed me twice so far. i don't like her. i soloed the Sheriff quest and have been taking out her guards one-by-one but she's brutal. she has 8000+hp and 9000+mana. she throws spells and heals left and right.

at one point, she killed my pet then turned me into a frog, and while i was hopping around, she chased after me, beating me with her staff. now that's just cold!

i was able to Scattershot her heal and get her down to 1400hp but i think i'm going need some buffs and shadow protection to finish the job.

Neck sells for 2.x gold and cape sells for like 40 silver.
Take your pick, not to mention i'd say the necklace is worth mroe.

I have just soloed Hexx, although it depends on your definition of solo. I was in Jintha'Alor twice with groups, getting the 20 guard kills there, but both groups wiped/disbanded before killing Hexx. Instead I used my lvl 70 hunter to clear the way for my lvl 50 warlock. I cleared the entire area around the altar, then logged onto my lock, soulstoned and summoned my felpuppy, as I figured the imp would dispell the fear. The fight itself was very easy. Just fear and dot up. She did manage to whack me a couple of times, but nothing special, and she neither healed herself or froggied me. So a 50 warlock can solo, provided you have some way of getting there and clearing the area.

On the other hand, I tried to solo a soul eater on the way up, as I was missing 5 kills, and I died from it. It was resist after resist after resist, even though I have 4 points in suppression.

She's not longer elite, but could be tough for some melee classes.

First time I had my druid, didn't even know she had a polymorph effect. Very easy. Tried a couple times with my combat swords rogue. And had problems. You can't interrupt her heals because you are polymorphed the entire time. You can't even do any dps. Then I thought of stun lock. This should be second nature to most rogues, but a rogue isn't my main, so I didn't think of it at first. Worked like a charm. If you can put out any dps (and you should as a rogue) should be easy. I was level 51 at the time.

Other melee classes except druids, I feel sorry for you.
