The Wyrmcaller Vile can be found in Gjalerbron at 36,07. The Wyrmcaller's Horn can be lootet from its corpse.

Don't wait too long with calling the Wyrm as the Wyrmcaller Vile respawns very fast and adds to the dragon.

I soloed this reasonably easily as a 71 feral druid with pretty average gear, Glacion has about 29k HP, but as mentioned above the Wyrmcaller Vile does re-spawn pretty fast, and I had him re-spawn when Glacion was at about 2%.

both are on the second platform on the left - the one with the blue magic circles on the ground everywhere. Was in a group but both mobs died horribly - seemed soloable to me at 71.

Listed rewards are NOT accurate.

As of build 8885, you will get:

25400 Experience points.
10 Gold (not 25 Gold 24 Silver)
And 350 reputation with the Valiance Expedition.

Questline ends up here as far as I know. ;-)

Go to 36.9 , 8.3

Go upstairs and clear every mob except Wyrmcaller Vile. Kill him last and use the horn. Eat and drink to full hp/mana. When the wyrm is at 10/15 yard from the ground use a couple of hots if you have some. And there we go, burst the wyrm like there's no tomorrow using every cooldown. The battlemaster trinket (+1750hp) and a healing potion can be useful for those classes who wear cloth.

The wyrm is a 71 elite and keep in mind that he's not snarable.

I soloed it as a Moonkin 71 with merci/venge resto gear with no problems ending at 60% hp. Should be harder for a cloth but doable with no troubles with a decent gear. Take a friend if you're wearing greens or when you have low hp jump down the platform (where you take no dmg for falling) and bandage while the wyrm chase you then finish him.

Glacion is immune to Frost damage, so frost mages and DKs will need to find a friend.

Easily solo'd as a 71 Destruction Warlock in T6. Hit for about 800-900 (1800 crit) on cloth. Frost Breath hit for about the same as melee. Immune to stuns.

As a 71lvl combat rogue easily solo, just went in and used CD's! Stealth wont matter, so dont use it!

Easily soloed as a 71 arms warrior in welfare gear. Used Recklessness + Empty mug of Direbrew, only lost about 4k hp.

71 hunter, in average gear, solo'd this with a Gorilladin keeping aggro on the wyrn. If you clear mobs around the area first, you should have absolutely no problem.

Frost mages probably will need a friend unless they have very good gear and some luck I guess. Can't wait for the dual-talent spec feature.

Frost mages will probably still find him a bit on the tough side regardless, he hits a bit hard and I attempted this at 71 in T6. I have this thing about doing solo group quests on my own just to do them as a personal challenge, and he was fairly tough. I ended up coming back at 72(post server lag and after the login rush) to get him, I probably could have done it if he hadn't been mauling my face off and I'd been able to get a health pot+crystal focus off.

The standard, nuke+pet, IV, CS/Pet rotation will work fine. If you find you're taking too much damage run; pop an IB and let your pet tank it for a couple of seconds. Don't be afraid of using food, or anything else. :)

Relatively easily solo'd as a 72 Marks Hunter in low-end epics (couple T4 pieces and badge rewards) and a wolf-type pet. Just keep Mend Pet up and you should be fine. Didn't do much more than 400-550 on each hit.
As noted above, the Wyrmcaller does respawn pretty quickly. Downed him, grabbed the horn, called Glacion, downed Glacion in 2-4 minutes, and the Wyrmcaller respawned just as I finished checking the wyrm's corpse.

Really easy quest. Beware though, Glacion and Wyrmcaller Vile are Resistant to Stun, Snare, etc. I tried that on the Vile, and I just wasted my Stealth :(

When I fought Glacion, I was at 98% HP. He's a very easy fight, doesn't do much Damage, but he has alot of HP. So I got him to about 50%, and I had about 35% (I'm a Rogue, and I couldn't stun. Don't hate me :P). Then, a Level 71 Blood Elf DK came running in, and saved the day. Thank you, Dker, if you read this :P

Btw, I'm an Alliance (on a PvP Realm) so this surprised me.

soloed as a 72 shadow priest. Blew the horn, dotted him up with vampiric touch, s word: pain and Devouring Plague. damaged until i got around half my mana then i potted for hp and sent my shadowfiend plus i went into Dispersion. Went fine!

Easily solo'd as a 72 rogue in quest greens. Didn't pop evasion but I used cloak of shadows to avoid one of his spells (fairly sure it worked.) Anyways, ended with about 60% hp.

soloed this today as a lvl 70 frost dk. took me down to about 30% health. didnt have to pop any major Cd's, used horn of winter, and kept up as many diseases as possible then used death strike. took a 1min 30secs

Soloed as a 72 holy paladin with 15K armor and 950 spell power. Took the dragon down in just under a minute using Seal of Vengeance and alternating Holy Shock, Holy Wrath and Exorcism whenever one cooled down. Popped a Flash of Light once for insurance but didn't really need to. Finished with 50% hp and 40% mana and skedaddled just as Vile respawned. The low quality rewards for this quest is a clue as to the actual difficulty, in spite of the dragon being called an elite.

Enter Gjalerbron by going up the ramp that begins at 35.9, 18.1.
Continue up the ramp. There will be an exhaust vent to your left and cages to your right. Head up the first ramp on your right (34.7, 14.1).
Look to your left (north) and you will see a large cage in the center of that area. On the opposite side of that cage there is a ramp. Go up the ramp (36.3, 10.1) to the northeast of the large cage.
Head left and go up the ramp (36.9, 9.1) immediately behind the flaming lantern post.
You will see Wyrmcaller Vile casting an AoE spell. Kill to loot Wyrmcaller's Horn.
You can use the horn right where you stand to call down Glacion.

I owned this guy, with a blood Death Knight (67), no blues, and I only lost 200 health.

Very easy if you know what to do.

1: Put on Vampiric Blood
2: Lay Mark of Blood on him
3: Icy Touch and Plague Strike
4: ?
5: Profit

Very easy as a 62 rogue, admittedly in full BT Epics still. Took about 500 health off me, if that.

Start off with a Murder Spree (Assuming you're combat) and as soon as that's finished Adrenaline Rush, Blade Flurry, Evasion. 5 Point Envenom when you've got the points and it'll be practically dead. No idea why this is a group quest.

EDIT : As mentioned, Rogues should note he is immune to stuns, as is the wyrm-caller. Paladins etc. too

I soloed as a 72 druid pretty easy just make sure to kill the guy heal up and call the wrym cuz the guy spawns but all n all had no trouble did 1st try

Just did this quest, I am a level 71 Draenei Deathknight specced in blood, and this was easy. Popped my racial heal while the wyrm was flying down to me, summoned my 2 minute ghoul and once he landed I dps'd the heck outta him, forgot to used mark of blood and i still never dropped below 3/4 health.
Definately soloable with a dk.

This quest was very easy, and I solo'd as a level 71 feral druid, with AH greens and blues, along with 2-3 quest items(Recent switch from Moonkin). Fight was very simple in itself, killed the Wyrmcaller, and immediately used the horn, looted from the recent kill. I was at about 90%, So I waited till Glacion approached from the left, descending down to the ramp, used Regrowth and Rejuvenation, and entered cat form. I popped Barkskin, Beserk, Tigers Fury, and a AP trinket, and killed him before the caller respawned, and with over 75% health.

Just did this as a new 74 Arms warrior. Just walked up, killed Wyrmcaller Vile, small bandage, used the horn to summon Glacion and then killed him. Had 9.5k left out of 14.6k HP.

Did it as a 72 Destro lock combonation Void walker tank i am speced so all my spells heal my pet so i just dide Immolate+corruption+curse of agony+confragulate+incenerate ocer and over until he was dead

Easily solo'ed as a 71 Discipline Priest, all I did was put my DoT's on him, then used casts, when I thought my health was a little low, only once, I put on divine shield and used greater heal. Extremely easy in my opinion, easily solo'ed.

Soloed as a lvl 73 feral druid.
Just before the wyrm lands, cast a Regrowth and a Rejuvenation to keep up your healing. Then it's basically tank and spank. I used Mangle, Lacerate and Maul (and Faerie Fire), and the wyrm went down in a min or two. Good luck!

Solo'd the dragon 72 arcane mage. Just had to keep up shield, a frost ward when I remembered and no problem. Did need to use mana gem and a pot though to keep shield up and nukes going.

Did this solo as a 69 Elemental Shaman. It was not too much of a challenge, I just set up the Totem of Wrath II and others and the Earth Elemental totem to "tank" him and just nuked the crap out of him. Used one of those health & mana potions but probably wasn't even needed. Was dead before summoner guy respawned.

You're probably getting the idea this quest is easily soloed. It is. I'd imagine if you tried in really bad gear (green quest gear) and weren't a strong solo-class, you might have trouble. But for the most part, this thing is an easy solo.

I have no idea why some of the group quests are quite manageable and others are near-impossible (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=12285, for example). I guess Blizz has different designers tuning quests differently.

Even rogues with cooldowns up can manage this guy. It's most likely to due the very long cast time of his Frost breath, during which time any and all mitigation he might have, (Dodge, Parry, Block) is nulled. During casts, he is also unable to melee you. Take these opportunities to use your big cost-big reward spells, because he will be unable to mitigate them. You may even use the time to heal yourself if you are a class that is able to do so.

Working on my fifth 80 now and have been able to solo him on every one except my mage.

Use his Frost breath cast time wisely and you should be able to burn him quite easily. Never use heavy duty attacks or spells while he is meleeing, as they will lose a lot of effectiveness.

Soloed this at 74 without any problems or adds. Wyrmcaller Vile is a normal kill. The Wyrm is Elite, but interupt its casting and all should go well.

I was 76 and soloed it also but you have to summon the wyrm pretty fast as Wyrmcaller Vile reswawns quickly. He reswawned while I was still fighting the wyrm but I managed to use Bladestorm to take them both down before I ran out of health. A split second before I ran out but took them both none the less...LOL!

The Frost Wyrm and its Master

Slay Wyrmcaller Vile and use the Wyrmcaller's Horn to call down and slay Glacion. Then, return with the horn to Mage-Lieutenant Malister at Westguard Keep.

Description

You were right to bring this to me, <name>. You must take help back north with you to Gjalerbron and slay that wyrm and its master, Wyrmcaller Vile!

Even now, as we speak here, the frost wyrm may be on its way.

However, if I'm reading these plans correctly, blowing the wyrmcaller's horn on his platform, outside in the rear left area of Gjalerbron, will call Glacion back. When the creature lands, destroy it!

And <name>, please bring me the horn. We wouldn't want it falling back into the wrong hands.
