This is a guaranteed drop from the Infinite Coruptor, within Heroic CoT:Strat. This mob is only kill-able if the group reaches him, at the end of the instance right before Mal'Ganis, within the allotted time.

Think of it as a 5-man Bear Run.

The difference between a Drake and a Dragon is the age of the beast and it's size. The drake is the middle stage of a dragons life. It goes, Whelp, Drake, Dragon. As for what an adult dragon looks like, look at Anachronos for the comparison https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=15192#screenshots

This will only be obtainable once Wrath of the Lich King hits, you are level 80, and successfully complete the instance "Caverns of Time: Stratholme" on Heroic Mode up to just before the last boss, Mal'Ganis, in 25 minutes.

If you do get to that point; and defeat the "special" boss spawn, which is called "Infinite Corrupter", you will have this mount drop from the "Infinite Corrupter" 100% of the time.

Good luck farming it! I will definitely set up a "farming" group within my guild to obtain this mount once we are all at level 80 and know the dungeon inside and out.

PS: This is an epic flying mount and requires the appropriate skill level (Artisan Riding; 300 skill) to ride it. Can be used in both Northrend if you have "Cold Weather Flying", and Outland.

Full grown Dragons in World of Warcraft are very sentient powerful beings, with a lot of power, often including the ability to turn into human representations of themselves.

Flying around on something that can turn into a person is a little too akward, and probably a little too close to slavery for Blizzard's taste :P.

Drakes are the "teenagers/young adults" of Dragons. And, like it states at the end of the Netherwing dallies, they want to join you to adventure with you and help you with your goals.

They're friends, not pets.

So we just tried this yesterday.

It seemed easy at first considering we still had (I think) 12 minutes to go after the 2nd boss (so the waves were done), but if you haven't been to the place yet, there's still a lot of RP going on afterwards. First theres some dragonkin guys inside the Inn, then another boss.

We had like 4 minutes to go after defeating those, when we reached the final alley, which is FULL of undead packs.

Getting to this guy in the allotted time really is a challenge I'd say, and I'd suggest bringing some Swiftness Potions or similar to speed up the running back and forth between waves. A Paladin tank would also come in very handy here, since he can do substantial damage to the undead AOE-packs himself to help kill them.

Oh and as to answer Nightshatter's question: The timelimit is 25 Minutes to reach the final passageway to Mal'Ganis.

EDIT: Felt like adding something: This place is awesome to farm badges, I'd suggest going here every time you want to do a heroic other than the daily if you need any badge gear at all. You get 4 Badges in about half an hour even if you dont make it to the special boss, 5 if you do. So since it's recommendable anyway, might as well try ur best on getting to this boss. :)

The Infinite Corruptor that drops this item spawns to the left path on the fork before Mal'Ganis' room (the right side is Mal'Ganis himself).

A thing that wasnt said, the Boss goes through a portal and leaves when the timer is off even if he is engaged. First run we killed Mal'ganis first and he left at 20% HP or something. Next day I got the mount. Screenshot in pending to get approved. Enjoy farming this.

He'll open a portal once time runs out and head towards it if you're still fighting him when the timer runs out. You only have about 5 seconds to kill him presumably at that time.

As for the guy himself he does a dot that stacks and deals a percentage of your maximum health and lasts 3 minutes. It dispels once he dies.

Just got this, with no more than 30-40 seconds to spare. First thing I noticed, this drake looks like it's smaller than the albino drake, actually, it seems both the red and bronze drakes are physically smaller than the albino one.

I'm the tank (prot paladin) in my farming group for this dragon. First time we went there we still had to get used to the instance but tried to do it as fast as possible. We had no clue about the Infinite Corruptor so we actually skipped him and took on Mal'ganis.

Second time, same group same drill, we aimed for the corruptor and easily made it. Continuous pulls and high DPS will get you there easily. Now we do it every day so that all of the group members have a drake (2 out of 5 have theirs right now). If anyone even cares, not that it matters much, this is the group-setup we use: Protection Paladin, Restoration Shaman, Retribution Paladin, Hunter and a Fury Warrior.

I suppose the idea was that this would be fairly hard to achieve, actually we found it dissapointingly easy.

Started running this for the mount a few days ago, have gotten 4 consecutively now and tried it with different group make ups. I'm a prot pally and I can definitely say that having holy wrath definitely help in moving this along.

Swiftness potions won't help you as there are tons of non-elite undead mobs all over the place and just a lot of waiting around for the RP to finish.

We got our first 3 drakes with, prot pally, coh priest, hunter, fury war, feral druid. Each time we did this we got the drake with 3 minutes to spare. Last time we did it with a mage instead of fury war and let me tell you...the blizzard helps a lot as it is generally very healing intensive doing that much chain pulling and aoe tanking.

If you have about 6-8 minutes to spare when you reach the final gauntlet of undead, you'll make it to the boss in no time.

Final note...do NOT speak to the NPC at the very end as he will run off to the final boss before you can do the drake boss.

Managed to do it today in under 25 minutes without even trying, but the thing was is that we were misinformed and we thought we had to kill Mal'Ganis and the drake would be in the chest. We were very sad when we found out we were wrong, but we will get it tomorrow I guess. :) Our group make-up was a Prot Warrior, Ret Paladin, Unholy DK, Elemental Shaman, and a Resto Druid (Me!). All of our dps was doing close to or over 2000 dps, our tank was uncrittable and would just go from one group to another, we did the whole pre-Mal'Ganis area while Arthas was still resting in between, we find this to be the best way to do it because sometimes Arthas can screw up your run because of his glichty AI. :(

I don't think the problem is the thought of mounting a fully grown Dragon. More so the size of the dragon will cause problems. Players will abuse it and cover NPC's and too many in the area will cause even more lag.

Fun little note: this drake is actually smaller than alot of other drake mounts. I have the albino and red drakes as well as a few netherdrakes and mounting up a few times it seemed smaller and after a bit of mounting up on all of them I found out the bronze draker is smaller than the rest. maybe 1/3 or 1/2 of the other's sizes. I though this was really cool.

If you're running short as you reach the Infinite Corrupter, keep in mind you can kite him away from the portal to gain extra time. Our first attempt we fought him near the portal and he despawned after the timer expired. Our next trip we pulled him back to Arthas and killed him after the timer expired, but before he could get back. Since then we've been able to down him with plenty of time left.

We have completed it with the following groups,

Prot Warrior
Holy Priest
BM Hunter
Fire Mage

Shadow Priest
Feral (Cat) Druid

Our Benchmark is getting to the Town Hall event with more than 13 minutes left. If you get that far, you don't have to rush as much through the gauntlet.

These are roughly the time marks you're going to want to hit to do this run comfortably:

Meathook dead with 20-21 minutes left
Salramm the Fleshcrafter dead with 14 minutes left
Chrono-Lord Epoch dead with 7 minutes left
Infinite Corrupter engaged with 2 minutes left

These times can fluctuate a bit depending on your luck with the running distance between waves and your group composition (more or less aoe/melee/whatever can make you more efficient at certain parts of the instance than others). Basically you're going to want to be hitting the gauntlet with a good 5-6 minutes or you'll be hard-pressed to make it through quickly enough.

As finnit noted in another post:

My group lost our first drake because we engaged the Infinite Corrupter with 1 minute left and fought him right next to the portal, so he just strolled off and disappeared at about 30% health. Kiting him further from the portal buys you more time.

All in all this is not all that difficult. Run it a couple of times with the same 5 competent players and it'll be a breeze. Likely to become even easier as people become better geared.

Mount dropped and I was the luckies punk in group and rolled 100 and got it.
One tip for all who want this mount
With protection paladin is easy just aoe all fast run etc, bring aoe mages warlocks retadins...anything that can go aoe. I don't say it cannot be done with other classes ye why not but not that easy like this.
Easiest with protection paladin tank because occasionally you have to tank 15+mobs and additional 3-4 elites

To speed things up, after defeating Chrono-Lord Epoch you can just run in and start pulling the undead mobs, you don't have to wait for Arthas. We kill Infinite Corrupter then come back for Arthas. Takes more clearing but saves valuable time.

Wery easy boss actually that HC is also easy .Wery easy farmable boss drop is 100% we just farmed with same group 5 runs for everyone in 5 days .ITS best way to get it.

Was farming HCUS for some time with just about the same group each night. give or take 1-2 dps.

A good way to speed things up is to have your healer AOE as long as he could keep the tank alive on all the 1-10 waves.

As well as have any kind of speed buff on to take you from wave to wave (drums of speed this still works on 80s, deathknight undead aura and sprint potions).

But be cautions after defeating the third boss. Everyone sees they have either 6-5 min left and panic. DONT! Last thing you want is 2-3 extra groups of eliets hitting your tank and then going nuts on the healer.

Take it easy on the last run and whatever you do never talk to Arthus after the gauntlet. If you do the optional boss will despawn.

Some tips from a paladin tank, veteran of hundreds of five-badge Shattered Halls runs, who now flies around on a bronze mount:

More than 1500dps per damage dealer, and ~1500dps from the tank, is the absolutely, positively, rock-bottom minimum for a successful timed run; 2000 is a good target. (It's a testament to Blizzard's designers' abilities that the run is that finely tuned.)
Mana regen is key. Your healer has to be able, more or less, to go four waves plus a boss without drinking.
Don't buff until just before Arthas kills his first civilian.
Shield pull, rush in, Holy Wrath, then Consecrate each wave. I am a big big fan of having a hunter drop snake trap on me once I start AoE tanking.
Necromancers are the most dangerous, so always focus fire them first.
Three main locations (with some variance within each) where waves spawn. Kill casters first; once you're down to two or three melee enemies in each wave, start kiting them to the middle location. Conversely, tell your hunters and mages to *not* use frost traps or frost novas; you don't want them slowed!
Once Arthas is inside the town hall he is buffable/healable; tell your party. He will despawn, then respawn, once outside again at the start of the final gauntlet, so rebuff him then.
Speaking of Arthas, put him on focus once inside the town hall. Beyond keeping an eye on his health, this is useful . . .
. . . for the penultimate pull before the time-stop boss, the one where two groups of two dragonkin box Arthas in. Have the party hide around a corner at either end, start tanking the near group, and Righteous Defense Arthas so the far group will be forced to come to you (with Arthas running after them).

I highly doubt that slavery would be out of the question as you will do practically everything else that is horrible and disgusting, while leveling. Think of all the thousands of murlocs, centaurs, elves, orcs etc. you've massacred during your time. And it's not just killing, no not at all, you have dug around in their bowels and ripped out their brains, eyes, teeth, fingers, jawbones (?) and well, practically every other body part that some crazed questgiver wanted.
Every single character in this game would be trialed, convicted and hung if there was anything resembling the hague tribunal in wow.

I myself have spent hours on hours killing elves in netherstorm, thousands upon thousands of fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters have been felled by my swordridden hand. Kinda psychotic actually when you think about it :)

I've gone back and forth on whether to talk to Arthas once exiting Town Hall and at the start of the last gauntlet, and currently believe that you should. Or that, at least, it doesn't matter.

Yes, Arthas sometimes runs ahead and pulls enemies but, realistically, any successful timed run is going to require more-or-less chained pulls anyway. He has plenty of health and, like Thrall in Old Durnholde, can briefly tank the next pull while you're catching your breath. (Your group did rebuff him at the start of the last gauntlet, right? Your healer knows Arthas can be healed and has him on focus, yes?) Seen in this light, Arthas is no drag on the party and, if anything, is a (tiny) net plus to DPS.

My advice: Bring Arthas along. Save yourself the trouble of clearing the last gauntlet three times, instead of just once. If you don't make the timed run with him, you wouldn't have made it without him anyway.

As a protection paladin, it's much easier to do this with lots of DPS (I had 2 retribution paladin, 1 Fury warrior). Luck also helps. The last time we ran this, every single pull spawn on King's Square side of the instance, thus saving us lots of time on running.

We hit the gauntlet with 11 minutes to go, so we finish that part of the run easily.

I don't recommend doing this with a healer who can't HoT through Meathook's stuns. Hand of Protection and pally bubble will only take a holy paladin so far. Also, a lot of the pulls have multiple casters/ranged attackers, so the tank has to run up to the group. No pulling. Also stack up on the second boss, because he spawns adds that will go directly for the healer.

I run this every day with friends of mine. Our set up is me a ret paladin, A protection paladin, Two mages and a shaman healer. We always blaze through this place because of all the aoe we have (divine storm, 2consecrations,2 holy wraths, blizzard arcane explosion etc.). By the time we kill the boss we usually have 4+minutes left...

Imo this group set up is the best for doing timed runs, you get a TON of AoE and single target dps, bloodlust and stuns (holy wrath.) and kings + wisdom or might....

PS: our shaman is an alchemist and he usually makes us each a elixir... other than that we just do regular self buffs...

Drakes can turn into humanoids as well. Remember Kalaran Windblade in Searing Gorge? he's a drake, not a full-grown dragon.

The timed run requires certain gear level, but the requirements are not that steep. The tank definitely needs decent gear, since incoming damage on trash can be pretty high towards later groups. I (druid tank) completed the timed run first time in half blue heroic/half epic gear. The focus for the tank would be a bit different depending on class. A feral druid should have an easier time surviving but will need more effort maintaining aoe threat, while for a pala tank it would be the opposite. Healer should have very good mana endurance, ideally healing several packs of mobs for around 5 minutes without drinking at all.

The bosses themselves are not that hard, doing the run in time mainly requires dealing with the trash in an efficient and fast way. This normally requires an approach focused on maximum AoE. Any form of cc including fear significantly slows down progress and should be avoided. If people have to do single-targed dps, it should go for the target with the highest current health. If your tank simply cannot take all that damage, you may have to single-dps the most dangerous mob (necromancers and infinite agents or hunters) first, but use it as last resort only.

When you start the event at the gates the first group of undead will spawn just a bit to the right of the fork ahead of you. The following groups spawn in random places which will be marked on your minimap. There is a certain random element involved, because sometimes they may be spawning next to each other, and sometimes you have to keep running all over the place to get to the next one. The groups get progressively larger and tougher towards the end of the first phase of the instance. Some of the mobs are ranged, and I found it easier to charge into groups so that the ranged and melee mobs do not separate. A small problem a tank has to watch out for is getting rooted by nerubians, because this makes the ranged enemies move away from you. Small zombies will be attacking you all the time, they can be easily killed and do not do much damage, but they can be an annoyance if they go for the healer, which is why healer should be standing near some dps who should be prepared to aoe the zombies that go for the healer. The zombies can also be a nuisance for the tank because they might interfere with targeting (be it clicking or tabbing) and can give distracting signals of party members getting aggro. None of the mobs have serious aoe so it is entirely possible for the whole group to stand near the tank, which simplifies healing and dealing with the small zombies but gives less time to react if a dps actually pulls aggro on one of the elites. Also this phase is the most demanding on mana endurance - use every trick you can to keep drinking to minimum, – use things like innervate and mana tide whenever they are available.

After you have dealt with 4 groups, the first boss, Meathook, will spawn in a random place. Tactically this fight is very simple. If you have a shaman, this is where you should use your first heroism. After the boss is dead you get around half a minute of rest before the next group spawns. Any loot rules should be established before the run, there’s really no time for loot council or extensive rolling. To have a good shot at the mount you should still have at least 20 minutes on the timer at this point. After four more groups, the second boss will spawn somewhere which is also a simple fight. After you kill him, head for the town hall (the building in the far left end of the area). Arthas will get to you in around a minute. The time it takes for him to get there can be a bit random, but he does not aggro zombies so there’s no need to try to kill them around him to save time. You should have at least 13-14 minutes left on the timer by this point.

Immediately when Arthas reaches you, talk to him (the general rule is to talk to him immediately whenever you can do so). After some talking (enough to drink, rebuff, etc) the group of citizens near the entrance will transform into infinite dragonkin and attack. Just aoe them like you did with the undead. After you kill them, move up the stairs, that’s where the next group will spawn. You should have a few seconds to place yourself and target since they attack only a few seconds after appearing from the portal. There’s a small amount of time before the waves, enough to get a bit of mana, and usually even (just) enough to res somebody. The group after that in a passageway is a bit trickier because you will have two dragonkin spawn at each end of the passageway. Arthas will run to take the back ones (casters), he can tank the mobs for a few moments, so I usually use a few attacks on the ones to the front, and then charge the ones to the back to get them all together. If you have longer cooldown abilities that can help with aggro, like challenging shout/roar, I suggest you save them for this pack. Remember to protect Arthas as well, since if he dies, you have to do it from the beginning of the townhall sequence. After you kill them, you will get one more pack in the middle of the room in front of you and then the boss. The boss is a bit trickier because he can attack random people quickly while the whole group is slowed, but in the end he is nothing special. Talk to Arthas immediately after this, and run down the passage. You can start pulling things immediately when you get down, just have someone talk to Arthas when he gets to the door.

The passage ahead of you is filled with undead, but most of them are just zombies. The tank should only focus on elites. There’s no time to kill them one by one, so pull one, get a bit of threat on it, and run for the next one (in any case, if you are too slow with the pulling, Arthas will often ‘help’ you by running ahead and pulling some more. Once you get around four elites, aoe them. Some of the elites patrol around, so watch for any adds. After you get to the middle of the passage (where Arthas normally tells you to ‘clear your lungs’), I suggest you pull a couple more elites and then just stay there and dps them, maybe moving a bit forward. Most of the trash in the second half patrols, so they will get to you one by one, i.e. in a somewhat more controlled manner. After you have killed everything that got to you, you should have just one or two elites at the far end of the tunnel and then you get to the clear space.

Forget about Arthas for a bit, just run left and a bit back and you should see the corruptor. The fight with him is completely straightforward, so if you still have a minute or two on the timer by the time you reach him (he gets in a portal and despawns when the timer is up even if you have engaged him), you should get a mount for someone very soon. Feel free to go a bit back and kill Mal’Ganis if you feel like it.

Not so. After winning the drake, I still saw the greed/need box on my next successful speed run. Of course I passed, and in any case it's possible I would not have been able to loot the reins had I rolled and won.

These estimates are roughly correct. With a very practiced group (three days, three successful runs--we plan to have all of the group regulars on a drake by this Sunday) we've tightened our times to:

Meathook: 21-22 minutes
Salramm: 17-18 minutes
Enter the town hall at the 15 minute mark.
Epoch: 10-11 minutes.
Enter the gauntlet at 9 minutes.
Infinite Corrupter: 3-4 minutes.

We bring Arthas with us and generally manage to stay abreast or ahead of him while running, so he's not much of a liability. We do, however, have very little downtime, so there's no "drink breaks" for him to get ahead of us in.

Group composition:
Prot paladin
Unholy death knight (DPS)
Frost death knight (DPS/off-tank)
Demonology warlock
Resto druid (me)

Having a tank and off-tank (as we do) for the gauntlet saves a lot of time, since they can leapfrog each other to pull each group with elites in it. This splits up the healing load evenly enough that one decently geared healer should be able to keep both of them up while they handle their respective groups. Also, Army of the Dead is AMAZING in this area--have your DK(s) save theirs to help out in the gauntlet, if you brought one.

In all the comments so far, no one has thought to mention that this Bronze Drake drops from an agent of the Infinite flight. This further confirms that the Infinite flight is a future incarnation of the Bronze flight, which basically means the Bronze flight are fighting themselves.

This was merely hinted at in TBC but we've gotten some less subtle hints in WotLK so far. This is, perhaps, one of the least subtle.

This is a joke to get. Our group setup was:

We chain pulled the gauntlet like mad, burnt Meathook in 35 seconds flat, and most other bosses in under a minute. We got to the Infinite Corrupter with 7 minutes left on the timer. For being the new timed mount event this was a real pushover. Hopefully in the content patches we can get a real timed event.

I am pretty unexperienced, so I think that it will take a lot of time to get the drake for me. But i don't understand how it can be quicker to have Arthas along as he appears to be rather slow. Even though it's a + to the dps i would value speed more since you only get 25 minutes.

The two Bloodlusts really help and i'd recommend taking altealst one shaman with you, we found it reasonable easy with the tank and ret pally i very good gear and the healer have just dinged 80 in mostly 70 stuff so if you concentrate and everybody knows whats going on, youll get it no problem

After you kill the third boss, don't wait for Arthas. Run through the hidden tunnel and out the other side. Run through the packs of undead until you round up 3-4 of the elites and stop. Kill them and continue.

All in all, this is pretty easy. We're not tremendously geared, mostly heroic/badge epics, but we can make it to the boss with about 6 minutes left on our timer.

Interestingly, this mount and the White Polar Bear mount from the Hyldnir daily quests (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=43962#contained-in-item) are the only mounts to display "... Mount" after their names in the pet interface.

E.G. Bronze Drake Mount / White Polar Bear Mount

However the Drake's name only shows up as "Bronze Drake Mount" in the pet interface and not on info tooltips like the White Polar Bear does.

Got this mount on my first try and first time in Culling of Stratholme.

We killed this boss in under 40 seconds with a pug group, it was nuts. We had 3 seconds left on our timer when he died and dropped the mount. In addition, he dropped 1 emblem of heroism.

I had to roll against 3 others, but managed to win the mount. I did not have epic flying, but was still able to loot it. I decided after though I would spend the money so I can ride this beauty :)

edit * to the post above me, you have 25 minutes once the event starts to kill him. If you don't kill him in that time, even while fighting him, he will go immune and run off.

The time when you would use a swiftness potion is when there are mobs at the Inn and you are at the way other side, you would use a swiftness potion and have a Mage spam Arcane Explosion on your way.

As people might have already mentioned, this mount drops off of the Infinite Corruptor in CoT: Culling of Stratholme. He will no longer available in the dungeon after the 25 minutes mark. There is a timer which indicates how long you would have left.

The Scourge waves should take ~10 minutes to clear. AoE (particularly that of death knights) is particularly effective in this case. The townhall should take ~ 7 minutes to clear and after the townhall should take ~4 minutes to clear, giving you ~3 minutes to down the corruptor, the rest of the time made up by running around. Do note that Arthas himself wastes a ton of time. So much for being enthusiastic about saving his people, heh.

I've killed the Infinite Corruptor thrice now, although losing my roll on the drake all three times. Here are my group setups:

The entire run is quite DPS demanding, my most lacking run was with each DPS class pulling at about 1.7-1.9k DPS. It's VERY important to have at least one ranged DPS and one who can AoE on the run as Meathook (first boss) will randomly stun someone not in melee range and if it happens to be the healer 100%, chances are your tank will die. The entire place is also very AoE demanding. I find that it's necessary to bring at least one AoE class. DKs should do fine and a mage would help out alot too. Every one of my three runs we had to have the tank run through the last part, pulling about 2 groups at a time (scourge infested area) and having the AoEs take down groups. If you have a good tank, this can be done and it will save approximately ~2-3 minutes of time. Artha's dialogue takes about ~1-2 minutes and his dialogue begins after 10 waves of scourge forces (after the Necromancer boss is downed). If you reach the townhall at about ~11 minutes or less, then the timed run probably won't be completed.

A common mistake that groups make is that they waste time running around during the scourge waves. Have someone who knows the order of things. The NPC will shout "Scourge forces had been spotted at . The former being the west of the vertical gate (where the 3 ghouls first surprise spawn) and the latter being to the east.

After beating Chrono-lord Epoch, run through the bookshelf and clear out the scourge on the other side. However, unlike a normal run, DO NOT talk to Arthas when he stops outside of where Mal'Ganis spawns. Instead, keep running until you reach a part of the city that does not seem to be scourge-infested (ie. with sunlight). Keep following that pass and you will see the Infinite Corruptor. It generally takes a group ~2-3 minutes to down him, he does not have many special abilities to be worried about, but do DPS your hearts out.

It should be noted that for the gauntlet, you could bring a Blood DK and enter a few fights until he can summon his rune weapon for the full amount of time. Have the DK summon the rune weapon then use Army of the Dead/summon ghoul and everything that can summon additonaal allies. If you have multiple Blood DK's have them all do the same or any regular DK. The blood DK will gain in 2 ghouls instead of 1 and a double sized army of the dead. It gets hectic but clears very quickly this way if you have a good mage and prot pally.

The latest patch changed the size of this drake. He's no longer smaller than his red and white counterparts. This makes me sad. The smaller size is what made this drake so much more appealing to me than the others.

This drake is the same size as the red drake from Wyrmrest rep.

Drake is a Dragon that isn't reach maturity yet. Basicly a teenager Dragon. About that slavery discussion, I don't think you enslave a drake when you have it as a mount. You just simply take it as a companion in your travels, maybe adopting it in someway, or take with you as a guardian, maybe simply become friends. There are no official confirmed information on this so it's all about your imaginaton, How you wanna role play it ? You want to be a Hero with a Drake companion ? Or would you like to be a cruel slave master that commands a Drake under his will ? Whatever you want..

Sprite looks a bit borked right now, at least for an orc. I'll see myself wiggling around then snapping back into place while sitting awkwardly to the side. Nothing big but kinda annoying nonetheless.

If you don't make the timed run with him, you wouldn't have made it without him anyway.

We killed the Infinite Corruptor as he was one step away from the portal.

This means we made it by approximately 1 second. Thus, we made the timer specifically because we didn't wait for Arthas to run down the steps at the start of the gauntlet. It was all chain pulls along that last gauntlet, and we killed the Corruptor with 3 ghouls on us, so it's not like having Arthas with us would have made up for the time spent waiting for him to come down.

Sometimes every little bit counts.

Keep Sacred Shield up on yourself at all times, and cast it on anyone that is even slightly getting agro, helps the healer out alot and get ready to use Righteous Defense to grab agro off other party members.

I also use Hammer of the Righteous and Shield of Righteousness to get almost instant agro either on single target or three, and Holy Wrath should the healer be having a hard time keeping me at full as it stuns all undead and gives time to heal me to full.

Also, during the initial 10 pulls right at the start, one thing i do is race in , select the undead, cast Avenger's Shield , then change target to the humanoid spell-caster and Hammer of Justice to stun them and burn them down fast.... ( normally 1 human spell-caster per group )

Get use to Chain Pulling , taking on 3-4 elites and up to 15 or more none elites at a time...

All up, a fun and exciting instance, done the timed run twice now, and twice Ive lost the roll for the drake.

You don't need the best gear in the world, but i would say 25K HP, and 540 Def, with about 24k Armour.... will make it a walk in the park.... depending on healer and dps composition.

Big pulls I use JoL and when i get low on mana I cast JoW... and take a few Pots

Just got this mount today with 3+ minutes to spare, on my first ever CoS run.

There is really no strategy to it. If your group is decently geared and doesn't waste any time between packs of undead you will get it easily. Our group was unholy DK (me), frost DK, enhance shammy, ret paladin, holy paladin. All of us are heroic/naxx10 geared.

Any group with decently equipped and well-behaved DPS can get to the Corruptor in time. A good measure of your dps is not meters, but how often is the healer forced to mana break. If you you mana break after any trash pulls, forget about the drake.

On the downside of success, you will very soon see more and more people sporting these mounts, making the one you have obtained just another fish in the pool.

Havn't been able to kill the mobs which drop the mount because of group members who are slackers who can't do anything right... but I think they really should do something about Arthas because his dialouges is just too long for someone to reach the mob in time, at least it seems for me...

Just did this and i won the mount (Yay)

The group was :
Pally tank (Buffs!)
Elemental shaman (Totems!)
Ret paladin (Buffs!)
Hunter (Meh)
Holy pally (Me and Buffs!)

We had easy control over the zombies, and we had a load of buffs. With replenishment and mana spring totem mana was not an issue. Our hunter died on the gauntlet but we still managed to get to him with 2 minutes left. We popped every CD (Including bloodlust) and got him down with 1 minute to spare :)

Running through the gauntlet was the most intense and enjoyable bit, especially with a load of zombies on you. This was my first time healing it and was glad when we did it :)

(I rolled a 55 and came top, i finally got lucky :P)

If you're running late on the timer don't give up, the Infinite Corrupter doesn't have to die before the Bronze Dragonflight agent is converted in order for the mount to drop.

I was tanking for a group with somewhat low dps, we made the gauntlet with ~4 minutes left and chain pulled the whole way. Towards the end of the gauntlet the rogue, in an epic display of ingenuity, sprinted to the boss and pulled him to me with ToTT. We kited him back through the gauntlet and ended up killing him right at the portal. Don't give up on the timer. Ever.

ehhh, this thing isnt that special anymore really =/

my friend got his like 2 months ago and that was back when, if u had this, people were like "OMG OMG!" and everyone stared at him and ^&*!, so i decided to go for it so i had a cool mount once i got to 80

so i got to 80, geared up and everything, did it last night for the first time, and won the roll, i was so happy until the next day when i went to krasus's landing to show it off

i then realized over half the people flying around that landing had it =/ oh well, it still looks cool and all, but i always wanted a mount everyone just gazed at lol, but im never gonna get those raid or heroic raid achievements for the plagued/black drake

it just kinda sucks that this thing really isnt anything out of the ordinary anymore, like everyone and their mom seems to have one lol

I got it some weeks ago, we were lucky though, we didnt want to get it, and our group litterally lacked Dps

Fury warrior, 1.5k dps(at that time)

An hunter, 1.2k dps(at that time)

Prot Paladin(2.5k dps)

A Resto druid (No over healing, gotta love him)

and a mage (3k dps)

We got it on the second! he said hes leaving sentence, and we killed him 2 sec before he entered the portal!

But can anyone please, please tell me how to grind up 5k gold so i can Use him? i call him Epach!

The timed run is pretty easy to do if you have the right dps. Here are the rules:

1. Always keep running to the next spot unless you have just killed a boss and are waiting for the next spawn. If that is the case, then stand in the middle of the spawn area, which is located where the first spawn is.

2. In the beginning, go to where the first spawn spawns instead of watching Arthas talk.

3. Always tell Arthas you're ready, even if you aren't. He moves pretty slow in some places and you will save time that way.

4. The part that really separates the men from the boys is the undead area leading up to Mal'Ganis. On this part, your tank must have at least 2 elite mobs on him at the same time, ALL THE TIME. When Arthas decides to rest, keep on going; he'll catch up. If your tank hasn't done this before, he might have trouble, for he may not know the patrol of the other mobs and may pull too many (just like me the first time I did it =D. After that, I got the hang of it).

5. Get atleast one class that has a reasonable amount of AoE DPS. Have them AoE when there are more than 2-3 mobs. This person will probably know the right time to stop AoE'ing and start single DPS'ing.

That's pretty much it, other than to blow off all of your cooldowns on the boss, since the timer keeps on going until you kill him, not when you engage him. Here's a time chart to let you know if you're making good time:

Finish with Meathook: 20 min+
Starting Infinite area: 12 min+
Opening Bookshelf: 7 min+
Starting Infinite Corrupter: 2min+

This is how I got mine. All that's left is to get 5000g for the training. Good luck, and happy DPS'ing!

I did this last night. 2nd time in CoS. First time was on regular just to do it and that was weeks ago. Last night I had a group that was just spot on. Really knew what we were doing in H Gundrak and H OK. We went in there and just own'd face.

Tank: Frost spec DK
Healer: Shaman
DPS: Blood DK (me)
DPS: Mage
DPS: Hunter

We finished the boss before Arthas and his crap started with 14 minutes left on the clock and pushed hard after that. We had one death, but with Arthas doing his RPG crap, rez was easy.

The hunter and I had an average DPS of 2.1k and the mage was around 1.8k. I didn't think it was high enough, but we did just fine.

Luckily I won the drake, which is amazing because I never win anything good =P. I plan on doing it more for easy Emblems of Heroism and helping the rest of that group get drakes too.

Dragons are too old, powerful, and proud to be willing to let themselves be common mounts. Most sources I've seen regarding people riding Dragons (as opposed to Drakes) say that the only reason it happens is because the rider has earned enough of the Dragon's respect to ride it; even then, it's only temporary.

Hello all, we've become pretty good at this and I thought I would post some tips and tricks. In the Heroic version of Culling of Stratholme, you have the opportunity to get a Bronze Drake for someone in your party. You have 25 minutes from the time wave 1/10 begins to kill all 10 waves, get through the building with the Infinite Dragonflight, through the gauntlet, and then finally kill the dragon boss to claim your mount. Here are few pointers to get you going:

You need to have decent gear. Most of this is a DPS race, you have to have heroic gear to be able to do this successfully.
We were only successful in a group with one healer. We tried a few times with 2 healers because of availability, but we wiped both times with one minute left, low DPS unable to get the boss down. Heartbreaking!
For the first 10 waves, you should be able to run nonstop and know where you're going at all times. That means starting off right on top of the first wave of ghouls and making quick work of them. As soon as the flag for the next wave shows on your map, your tank should be taking off and going. Ignore zombies along the way, they will be part of the AOE destruction at your destination. We find that getting casters down first in all instances works well, and AOEing every group. The bosses in these waves are both very easy. You get a slight break after Meathook (wave 5), use it to reposition the party at the middle so the next wave is a short run in either direction. We can usually get through these 10 waves with at least 17 minutes left on the timer in our best group.
After wave 10, sprint to the door of the next location, kill all the zombies, and wait for Arthas. As soon as he arrives talk to him so he advances the story. A good tank will know exactly where to position himself to pick up the dragonflight as they spawn in this part of the instance. On the pull where you have casters at one end of the hallway and melee at the other, have the tank stand with the casters and have melee DPS pull the melee into the meatgrinder of AOE from the other end of the hall. The boss here is also cake, and a good metric is that if you get the boss down with 7 minutes or more remaining, you have a good shot at getting your mount. But you have to hurry!
It's very important that the SECOND the boss comes down that you talk to Arthas, he has to open the bookshelf for you. Now you have a choice. If you 10 minutes or more, I recommend talking to Arthas at the bottom of the stairs and doing the guantlet normally. If you're around 7 or under, don't talk to Arthas again after the bookshelf! He spawns more adds and makes the guantlet take a bit longer. The only downside is that to finish the instance you have to go back and reclear the guantlet if you don't talk to him at the bottom of the stairs.
The guantlet is very chaotic and very fun. It depends a lot on the tank's situational awareness and his knowledge of his party and what they can handle. The basic strategy is to pick out the elites from the mob, charge them, get enough threat to hold them, and pick out the next elite, etc. You have to know how much your party can handle and when to stop, and a lot of it depends on how much time you have left. Usually we take 3-4 elites and 10-20 zombies at a time. You have to move fast, but wiping is worse than moving slow. It's hard to keep threat on everything here while charging around grabbing more adds so apologize to your dps beforehand :P
Run through the gate to the unburned part of Strat and RUN PAST THE END BOSS. You don't need to go down that tunnel to get your drake. At the end of the other tunnel is the time boss, grab him and tank him. Make sure your healer is within range of your tank. He isn't hard and has about 400k hp, so you can kill him pretty easily even with only 2 minutes left. We used to pull him away, but we ran out of time on one attempt and he runs so quickly back to the portal that kiting him away doesn't help. You simply can't catch him to finish him off so wasting the time kiting isn't worth it.

Did this with a Pally Healer, DK tank, For dps we had a destro lock, arcane mage and a shammy( can't remember spec ) We had a few stupid deaths but we still had about 3 min left when we engaged the corrupter. With heroism we were able to down him in roughly 30 seconds, with each of us pulling over 2.5k dps we made short work of him. I think we had the best possible make up for this, as we had arcane explosion (mage), Death and Decay (Death Knight), Shadowfury (Warlock), Holy Wrath/Consecration (Paladin) and Bloodlust (Shaman) I'd say the toughest part is not the actual bosses but the inn. In the inn there are some tricky ambush sequences you're tank has to be aware of and watch out for.

TIP:
Once you have downed 3th boss, a nice way to spare 30-60 sec : DO NOT TALK TO ARTHAS AND TRIGGER THE GAUNTLET EVENT, if you do 4-6 elite packs spawn addition to the elites that are there allready. Done this with 9 mins to spare after 3th boss and we ended up with 4 min to spare after Corrupter's death. Also helps if tank is having problems with tanking multiple elites or if you're lacking AoE

So far I'm the only one who hasn't gotten his mount from the boss 5th day today and its 100% chance for meh naow :D:D

Just got mine a couple of hours ago with two minutes left on the clock. This was my third attempt, the first two being pugs, while this one only had a pug tank (selected because he had the achievement already), and some friends. It really requires solid healing and tanking, with some face melting DPS. Didn't run into any mana issues, even going full-burn with all of my cooldowns, as there are a couple of breaks to drink, plus times where you can chug a runic mana pot (plus using mana sapphires for the mage tier armor bonus).

I'd say it isn't too difficult, just make sure you don't try to throw together a random pug for it. You really need experienced players.

I would highly recommend trying to get this Drake. It's one of the most stunning mounts in the game (other than the Blue Drake) and since it's slightly smaller than the other drakes, it takes up less of your screen. It's been my main mount since I got it and I think you'll like it too.

I had an amazing run today! First off, everyone in the raid had this beauty except me and a priest. Second, we reached the Corruptor with 5 minutes left. This is the make-up we had:

1. Protection Pally (tank)
2.Survival Hunter (me)
3.Holy Priest (healer)
4. Shadow Priest (dps, of course)
5. Retribution Pally (dps)

We killed Meathook around 22 minutes and Salramm the Fleshcrafter around 18. Cleared the trash in the inn and got killed Epoch at 12 minutes. Cleared the Gauntlet and got to Market Row with 5 minutes left. Engaged and killed the Corruptor with 2 minutes to spare.

The holy priest priest agreed to pass due to the fact that i payed him 500 gold so......i got the mount.

As many posts here recommended, do NOT talk to Arthas after reaching Market Row! He will start the event and, even if you engaged the Corruptor will die and BOTH bosses will despawn, therefore ruining the effort toward the mount drop. Oddly enough, this was my first succesful timed CoS run. If you really want this mount, keep trying toward it and you will eventually get it.

Also, Survival is the new raid spec for Hunters, and Explosive Shot and Black Arrow definitely makes a BIG difference! That said, the Hunters that roll against Warrs and DKs on BoH or Colossal Skull-Clad Cleaver are fail hunters and should be discarded from anyone's memory.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

If you are to claim this lovely mount then u have to defeat the Timed boss.
Its actually quite hard. If u wipe, u might not manage to slay him before timer runs out.
Even if u engage him before time is over, he will dissapear when the timer expires
So make sure u have a nice grp with nice dps. He is very hard to reach in time

Ran this as an Unholy DK Tank and we made it to the boss with four minutes to spare, easily finishing him off.. As a DK Tank, make sure you have a great healer and always keep things moving by using your AOE.

Other things to consider for Unholy DK Tanks:

Don't be afraid to use Empower Rune Weapon if your are moving fast and the mobs keep coming and your runes are on CD. In one instance I started to lose aggro as we finished off one set of mobs and took on the next. I used Empower and quickly took control again.

Death Pact is very helpful if the healer needs a breather. Pop your ghoul and then resummon once the CD expires.

I found myself using Dark Command more frequently and saved Death Grip for the oh #%*@ moments.

If the healer needs mana, I recommend they drink toward the very end of a mob fight (especially before one of the boss fights) so that things keep moving as DPS finishes off the last few mobs before moving on.

Doing the timed runs are a lot of fun. My group is going to run it again until everyone has a drake. Happy Hunting!

Last night i was in heroic CoS on my Death knight, First time on heroic in there, and i asked if we were doing the timed boss, the answer was yes, we arrived with 2 minutes left, killed him (It being my first time there i didint know what he dropped) Out drops an epic flying dragon, which, i won.

Sadly enough, i dont have epic flying skill, i have CWF and Outland Skill, but it just kind of bothers me i won it on accident when they could have acctualy used it. =/

L2read....Chromie is whispering throughout the entire dungeon about the Bronze drake who has been captured. Their is no proof of the Infinite and Bronze as one. And if they were one, explain the color difference AND the fact that they kill eachother.

Just did it with

Prot warrior (tank)

Blood DK (dps, me, 2k dps)

Feral cat druid (dps, about 750 dps)

Fury Warrior (dps, about 2.5k dps)

Holy priest (Heals)

Sorry, I forgot dps on the tank, but it was around 2k I think, anyway, we rushed through without swiftness potions, and still got to City hall with 14 minutes left. Quickly, we got though everything and got to the gauntlet with about 9-8 minutes left, pretty good I thought. I, the dk, forgot to AotD and we still go through fast, reaching the boss with 4 or so minutes to spare. Only me and the cat druid didn't have the mount and I won the roll! Still happy about it, and the big shocker though was, we had 3 deaths, 3 rezs, and still had time to spare. We did get lucky with spawns, but a note to anyone trying this, once people get 3.2 gear, this will be so easy I can't believe it. Even without even naxx gear you can do this, tank a heals having some would be nice, but insanely easy when you know what to do.

My group was running close to losing it but when we got to the last alley, we continuously kited towards the guy while dps fought guys on the run, stopped JUST before him and finished off all the mobs, then took on boss, finished with about a minute and a half after only about two and a half minutes when we reached the alley.

We were able get through the gauntlet with arthas and before the last boss we headed straight to
the boss and was able to kill infinite corrupter with couple minutes to spare.

I won the Reins of the Bronze Drake and i was really shocked because i was having really low rolls that
day. :P

if you do this instance for the drake,go with a:

druid
death night
warrior
mage
paladin

if you go with this combination, you always get the mount BTW everybody has is because is the easiest mount to get with the other mounts you has to be exalted with something or alot of quests.....

You can actually fly above Dalaran and Wintergrasp now provided you keep a healthy distance above the city. I have however seen players atop their flying mounts sitting above the water well/portal in Dalaran.

Nice job out-rolling people who could probably use it.

Nothing wrong with him winning the role as long as he pulled his own weight in the timed run. Unlike gear, everyone is eligible to use and benefits equally from the Reins of the Bronze Drake. He also mentions that he doesn't have 300 flying mount training yet. Unless he never intends to fly in Northrend (oh, the horror), he has an equal shot at the drop.

Admittedly, I don't know why you would post about winning a drop, and kostyan already confirmed that you can roll even if you haven't learned Artisan Riding yet.

The Infinite dragonflight may indeed be a future incarnation of the Bronze dragonflight. The bronze mount dropping from the fight simply means, however, that the bronze drake you rescued to complete the timed event has decided to join you in your adventures.

I was lucky enough to get this on my first CoS group; the run is pretty easy so long as your group knows what they're doing and is geared right.

Something I did notice, though, is that when I won the roll the drake didn't come into my bag. It's a good thing I checked my bags before moving on or it would have rotted on the corpse; I dunno if this is a one-time bug or what, but it's worth noting that you should be sure to check your bags after the roll.

why is this a problem you say?
well it being easy to get and all, EVERY NOOB ON THE FACE OF AZEROTH has this bad boy. it is often joked about that people who ride this are poor, making it the "welfare" mount. with that said it is still an awesome mount, just beware of ToGC runs where everyone else has some other awesome looking mount (Onyxia, black, twilight, red, prof mounts, class mounts, yada yada yada), you will probably get lol'ed for a good 5 minutes waiting on the goddamn afk hunter

I got my mount on the 2nd run through. And this is with a DPS leaving the party right before Arthas went into the Town Hall. Thankfully, the queued DPS got in quick, and caught up. I forget the group make up (had a DK, I know that, and I am a Ret Pally). And yes, it seems that killing undead is our specialty. :D

. . for the penultimate pull before the time-stop boss, the one where two groups of two dragonkin box Arthas in. Have the party hide around a corner at either end, start tanking the near group, and Righteous Defense Arthas so the far group will be forced to come to you (with Arthas running after them).

Just to add to this, I used Misdirect and it worked a treat, though I think I surprised the warrior tank. Hunters, be sure to warn your tank ahead of time!

Anyway, excellent advice all around. I wish I'd read this *before* my first H CoS run, though we still made it with time to spare.

Last group I was in got to the boss with 2 minutes to spare...and we were not hustling at all. boss died, party member got his drake (ive had mine for a month already)

What hasn't been mentioned, at least I didn't see it yet, is how the speed of these epic flyers is affected by a Paladin's Crusader Aura. that extra 20% is gonna be sweet!

heres what happened.
i was killing mobs with a random group.had just killed epoch.
then suddenly i dced it took like 5 mins for me to reconnect.apparently my group didnt wait for me and killed bronze drake boss.
whatever. when i logged in i saw bronze drake loot and pressed need just for the heck of it.
got it.
i was suprised but they were breathless i looted the drake and teleported out of the dungeon like a total %^&*!@.
hah.

It's the "new bear run", except you can't really showoff your drake as Dalaran is a nofly zone.

:P you can mount up in krasus landing, and there is a patch of grass next to the kirin tor building that can have flying mounts in it, aswell as a fountain near a bank that if you fly above you will not demount

When you get on the Drake, try walking just one step forward. The ground rumbles! :D
It would get VERY annoyng if it did it all the time but... it only does it for one step.

I was like "What the hell is rumbling? D:<" Till I realised :P

According to individuals on Thottbot, this has a drop rate of 100% from Infinite Corruptor during the 25 minute timed event. Infinite Corruptor is at the end of the run near the last boss, but instead of going right toward the last boss, you turn left.
