What you are thinking of is a Dodecahedron, which has 12 sides/faces.

A decahedron is a polyhedron with 10 faces. And Decahedral is the adjective form of the word, so in short. It's a 10 sided dice.

I pickpocked one of these on live. When used, I emoted:

Xanne rubs her between her hands and rolls.

They don't make you do a /roll, even when you're in a party. I can't find a use for them apart from RPing.

Unless there's a bug, these and the Worn Troll Dice no longer do a visible /roll, but instead simply display an emote such as "<Name> rubs his between his hands and rolls".

To restore the /roll functionality, you can simply make a macro such as:

#showtooltip Decahedral Dwarven Dice
/use Decahedral Dwarven Dice
/in 1 /roll

Now not only can you use it to make your /rolls, but it's preceded by the emote, which makes you just that much cooler when you win the item.

deca(δέκα) in greek means ten(10)
hedra(έδρα) in greek means side
decahedron means a 10sided something
dodeca(δώδεκα) in greek means twelve(12)

I love novelty items like this. I wish a website existed that showed all the pointless-yet-fun items of WoW(or that wowhead had a way to track them). This one is going into the bank, right next to my torn ogre loincloth, and my first mate hat.

I pick-pocketed one of these off an Onslaught Harbor Guard yesterday.

I love little items like this. No point, just a little extra fun. I always use it before rolling for loot, but so far it hasn't helped my terrible luck.

In a lot of roleplaying games, two 10-sided dice are used to establish a percent, with one die representing the 10's place and the other the 1's place. It's possible these dice will actually be usable in random rolls by making them percentage. If they fix them next patch.

The obvious thing here is, if i'm rolling a 10 the sum-up is 'incorrect'. F.e. 1010 if i rolled two 10's. How can i fix this by making a 0 out of every 10? 00 would be acceptable for a 100.

@Dannor: the word you're looking for is "die". Dice is plural, die is singular.

haven't seen anyone talk about where they drop and as this is only available to pickpocketing. I found it easy to get them off the onslaught mobs in new hearthglen in dragonblight. took me about an hour of farming, true numbers may vary. thought this would help since i was looking at the drop chance of the mobs from pick pocket and only shows numbers in the hundreds. and one or two out of the hundreds. rightfully so, i may have pick pocketed at least 160 mobs to get mine. Hope this post helps people trying to farm these dice.

For anyone looking to farm this, I recommend the onslaught mobs in Dragonblight. For the most part you can disregard the pickpocket rate information for these dice. I initially was only pickpocking the Onslaught Raven Archon's until I decided to head down to the New Hearthglen and try my luck there. After many pickpockets I finally got the item off an elite inside a building. Good luck to anyone wanting these.

By the way the dice do a /random 100 not two 1-10 rolls.

the name and tooltip describe a pair of 10 sided dice, so using it should produce two /roll 10s but instead it does one /roll 100. blizzards mistake, or just crafted by a really drunk dwarf? :P
