Best weapon in game for Hunters, it has high dps but is also not a bad wep for Crit build Hunters.

With 25 Agi enchant = 70 Agi
Atk power = 70 x 2 = 140
Crit chance = 70/52 ~ 1.35%

Tell me how can a Hunter pass this ?

In the game right now no hunter should pass up the chance of getting one even with the +weapon skills. In the expansion, this will probably the best weapon you will have going into Outlands.

Changed to:

+30 Agility
+22 Stamina
Equip: Increases attack power by 60.
Equip: Increases Bow skill rating by 9.
Equip: Increases Crossbow skill rating by 9.
Equip: Increases gun skill rating by 9.

At level 60:
2.5 weapon skill rating = 1 weapon skill = .1% to crit
(Hunters) 1 agility = 1 RAP
14 RAP = 1 DPS
33 agility = 1% to crit

so with +25 agility, you get:
2.03% to crit
115 RAP = 8.21 DPS
220 hp

Barb of the Sand Reaver (32 agil, 31 Stam, 40 AP) with +25 enchant:
1.72% to crit
97 RAP = 6.93 DPS
310 hp

Eye of Nerub > Barb of the Sand Reaver
(and let's not forget the ugly Raptor crits with this thing, same speed as BotSR but 26-40 damage higher)

As a Warrior, I can safely say this is a Hunter weapon. I mean, a lot of weapons are in the Grey area. +AGI benefits Warriors, Rogues, and Hunters, there might be a stat on it that's not good for you but the other stats are still better than anything else, so on and so forth.

But it won't be long before Kel'Thuzad is taken down, and Might of Menethil comes. Warriors should by all means wait for that. With +4 to all Ranged Weapons on this, the only way Blizzard could have been more clear is by making it unequippable by any other class than Hunters.

The only thing is, it's usually a fairly long time between when someone beats the Third Boss, and the Last Boss, of an instance. By the time people get up to Kel'Thuzad, let alone beat him, there's a chance all your Hunters may already have this weapon, depending on the drop rate. So by all means, if no other Hunters want it, or they all already have it, let a Warrior take it, but that is the ONLY circumstance that it should be given to anyone other than a Hunter.

Seriously Wars, just hold out for Might of Menethil. If you waste it on this obvious Hunter Weapon you probably won't have enough DKP for Menethil, anyway. Use your brains, let the Hunters have this one, because that's obviously how it was intended.

seriously, i think that the only reason bliz gave this the ranged skill +4 was to make sure this went to hunters. some would argue well why not make it class: hunters? i have yet to see a raid weapon drop thats class specific.

THIS baby makes most weps look like vender trash for hunters,that with lhok and full t2/t3....u will be unbeatable

The +bow/guns/x-bow is just as good as having class "hunter" writen on it

lets see, 45 agility + 4 of every ranged weapon skill, Hmmm... which polearm using class uses lots of agility and ranged weapons? gosh its so darn hard to work out, all you hunter robbing noobs do the fooking maths, i thought nerds were meant to be good at maths. Almost every other weapon in naxx and indeed pretty much every other decent weapon in the game is a warrior or pally or rogue wep, give hunters a break you jerks.

In all truths, I'd go with Barb of the Sandreaver. If you're a SV Hunter with LR then by all means take this weapon, you'll get more out of it than a MM Hunter. While ranged attacks are not affected by Glancing Blows, Increased weapon skills still raises your chance to hit slightly and chance to crit by 0.04% each point. You're losing 9 stamina over gaining just 4 agility vs Barb, but at least your Raptor Strikes will be deadly. Its still good Hunter weapon, but I really wouldn't mind seeing a Warrior pick it up.

5/31/15, at least I'm still going to benefit from the 31 stamina on Barb more than this.

Think what you want, it is useful for both warriors and hunters. the stats would add about 2 crit and 220 health for a warrior, as well as the fact it has great top end damage. This alone makes it plausible for a warrior to win a roll on this.

The weapon skill is just there to make sure that hunters are at least allowed to roll on this, since on many other weapons, people are selfless jerks that do not allow hunters to roll over warriors (aka ashkandi, spinal reaper, etc)

Well, isn't all it should be.. white damage is only mariginally increased from +weaponskill. We don't have glancing blows with ranged, it just adds 0.2 hit and 0.2 crit straight up.. waste of itemlevel.

This could go either way. Just cause it has +skill doesnt mean its for a specific class. If your in Naxx. I wouldnt take this anyways as a hunter. A Hatchet of Sundered bone and FoF combo still beats this polearm by 6 attk power and almost 1% crit.

Everyone who says this is a hunter weapon I agree it is, but its not solely a hunter weapon. Most of the people who are calling other people noobs assume this is because it has agility and ranged skill, probably cause thier main is a level 50 that has only cleared ST. And if your a good hunter you will have +3% scope on your wep so you only need 2% hit other places making skill pretty useless anyways because of the fact that after 5% hit it doesnt count towards your shots anymore.

which is nearly as good as this polearm. (For a warrior.) 1% Crit, 70 attk power, some stm. I would say who ever has more dkp. If I was a warrior though and I still raided Naxx, I would save my dkp for the Mace of Kel'thuzad.

Anyone who continues to say this is a hunter weapon ONLY should reroll paladin and never raid again.

Weapon skill to ranged weps? Weapon skill improves your damage on glancing blows. Ranged attacks does not have glancing blows!

5 weapon skill also increases your chance to hit by 0.2%, here you get +4 weapon skill for a smashing +0.16% weapon skill. All hunters alrdy have +8% to hit anyways regardless.

Other stuff on the wep is good though.

This > Ashkandi, even for a warrior ;)

Looks like a direct hunter upgrade from Barn of the Sand Riever.
4 more agility might make it a valid improvement over many 1H combos, although, I fear, 1H combinations often stolen from warriors and rogues will still be the way to go for maximum damage output. Even for Survival specced hunters.

For skill lvl below 300 - +1 to weapon increases crit rate by something very close to 0.04. If this carries into ranges about 300, which it rather likely, this weapon might be even better than it seems.

I got it today and I must say its sweet. Raptors between 1000 (on plate) to 1600 (on cloth), aswell really good for ranged. With survival it gives me ~80 AGI which translates to 160AP and about 1.6% crit, weapon skill adds another 0.16% crit, all in all 1.76.

Previous dualwielding weapons was hakkari in MH and harbinger in offhand. Loose basically 1% crit, but gain about ~60 AP, well worth it IMO.

Best of all, it looks really cool :).

the +4 on Ranged is perfect for Hunters because of the chance2hit. I can see the difference between the Chromm-Crossbow and the Questbow as a troll (305 bows) so this will be a nice thing especially for bossfights.
45 Agi is nice but it will not be the best item for Dmg when you all take a look at the other naxx-dropps so keep cool and don't hurry. It will not be the wua big boost for dmg but it means fewer misses with tranq when the raid needs them...

After all, it is just an item and when you kill the boss you will have to take a look at the dkp to see who gets the weapon.

+4 weapon skill does the following

+0.16% chance to crit
+0.16% chance to hit
-0.16% chance the mob will dodge
-0.16% chance the mob will block
-0.16% chance the mob will parry
+12% more glancing blow damage (ranged attacks don't have glancing blows)

Weapon skill is good. This is why you may see a fury warrior using level 44 epic gloves on end game boss fights.

I got it last night on our first Loatheb kill. Highest Raptor Strike I've gotten is 1587 so far. Looks hell of a lot better than Barb of the Sand Reaver too. I'll post a screenshot in a bit.

OK as stated previously you dopn't really need this pole-arm.

It's a very nice upgrade and the skills clearly point towards the hunters, but the fact remains you don't really need the skill increasment for x-bows/guns/bows.

As I'm currently have 5/8 T1 and 3/8 T2 with the Rhok'Delar bow it's needless for me to get this item at this very moment. I get from my gear and hear my words 11%, yes you hear it right 11% hit chance on my character. This includes the ZG enchants woch gives 24 RAP/1% hit/10 sta.

As said the staff is nice, but you can manage perfectly with the dw Hakkari from ZG. It gives rougly calculated 128 RAP, seeing 1 agi = 2 rap. Stat wise the pole-arm is nice to have, but I would prefer DW none the less cause it just have more beneficial. When I go into mleee I have 3 hits on a person instead of 2 hits. This using Raptor Strike and Wingclip in a combo.

To hunters looking to get this. This is only a DPS upgrade for Hunters that weave. If you do not weave it's actually a DPS loss compared to dual wield.

This is great for melee weaving since ranged and melee attacks don't share timers, meaning you can do the aimed - multi - auto combo and go in for a raptor/wing clip smack and even better if you're in a shaman group, WF can proc from both and do insane burst.
