Has WoW been keeping track of every copper I've looted? It seems like doing that wouldnt have really had much purpose before these achievments.

It seems probable to me that it will only start counting after you get WotlK... which willl make this quite a bit harder.

Loot means taking it from a corpse.
Thus, It would be more than logical for it to mean exactly that?

I don't think it counts for item loot. Since the money does not come straight from a corpse, but rather it comes from the merchant (aka. vendor) you sell the item to.

I suppose this is kind of "endurance" achievement. Also this is something you should not aim for. Just play the game, and eventually it will "pop" for you. Not worth of a grind is it? Mobs dropping a 20s - 1g coins per kill... Which would make 25,000 kills for this achievement.

Just play the game and you'll get it.

As this is a general achievement, it most likely will not be retroactive. So the tens of thousands of gold that you have looted since levelling from 1 and your first Lucifron kill won't mean anything towards such an achievement. By the time you reach level 80 (from level 70), you should have looted hundreds, if not thousands of gold.

As people have pointed out, it depends on what is counted as "looting gold", too...

Dosent things like mag drop like 500 gold or somthing, meaning that by doing that, Bosses are going to give a lot more on SOME of them. This will let you breeze through this if you raid then. Thats like killing gruuls 50 times, which many people problaly have.

yeh but i dont think they're recording this, but who knows maybe the lvl 80 bosses will drop considerably more gold divided among some so raiding you should eventually get this, and faster with grinding for it

2 possiblities, you must have looted 25,000 gold over the course of your character from looting things(As in actual silver/gold/copper drops).
This might mean only money you've gained, OR it might include money that gets shared with the raid(meaning that yes when you loot those raid bosses for that 500g it gets counted toward it.) Does not count loot you received as "share of the money" you must actually have looted the corpse yourself(gogo be first to loot kil'jaeden on free for all XD!)

Pre-tbc bosses drop even more than that so go back and 5man molten core or something and get your gold and rep achievements at the same time, heh. :)
Also the silithus boss from a Greater windstone gave me 48G when I looted him. heh.

Having more than 25k gold will not get you this achievement. I had 145k g wenn v3.0.2 was realeased and didn't get it. So it's probably really "looting" an accumulated amount of 25k gold.

as i saw on a movie he gained an Achievment after lotting 10g or something from Onyxia so this must be that ur gonna LOOT so much gold etc for getting the achievment done...even thought looting 25,000 of 1 mob is very hard..

I will confirm, for Rogues, money pick pocketed or that comes from the junkboxes and such that you pick pocket do count for this achievement.

This is by far one of the hardest.. 25,000 gold from looting, not quests, looting.. I have almost 300gold so far from looting, to do this achievement, means you are rich, because all the looting, you mustve won alot of epics/blues to sell on ah.

It is also affected by the gold you loot from Bag of Fishing Treasures, which is the fishing daily quest reward, so I would guess that the achievement is also affected by money u loot from other quest rewards.

For a final word, this achievement (and the others similar) counts money looted from any source. From a quest reward bag, from mobs, from treasure chests. As long as the money came up in a loot window somehow, it counts towards this and other 'looted' achievements.

Yes, this quest is not difficult, but it will certainly take time.

It is gold looted, not anything to do with how much money you have. I am currently at 2,850g and some change. I do not even have 300g on my character, so it is collected money over time.

The people that will hit the mark quicker are raiders and other people who run 5, 10, 25 mans due to bosses dropping several hundred gold.

The daily fishing quests outside Shattrath reward a Bag of Fishing Treasures, which contains around 7g each time that counts towards this series of achievements. The quests are very easy and fast to complete if you have at least 300 fishing skill and some lures.

Just another way to get larger chunks of gold towards this achievement. If you did just that quest every day you could get this in just about 3571 days! (Ok, but it does help).

Update!: As of patch 3.1 there are new fishing daily quests in Dalaran (Near the wishing well in the Eventide). The bag of fishing treasures you get as a reward for those dropped 5-10g for me!

Shared loot counts aswell, so if someone in your raid/party loots money you'll get your share and it will count towards the achievement.

You get this achievement by accumulating 25,000 gold off of loot drops from creatures, mainly humanoids. You do not have to keep the gold, and if you'd like to check how much you''ve looted, you can track this achievement, or there's even a statistic for it under Character / Wealth.

There should be a reward for this where you get a neck slot item that looks like a giant dollar sign/euro sign (depending on where you play) that swings from your neck. It vendors for 10000 gold, but when you try to vendor it, it says, "The merchant cannot afford that item."

Also, it would slow movement speed by 50% while wearing it.

My question is, does it count money looted from the mailbox? If it does, then a simple way of completing it is to mail cash back and forth from alt to main until you've looted a total of 25,000 g from the mail.

My account isn't active atm so i can't check this for myself, could someone do me a favor and look into it?

No title or reward for this? This seems like one of the most time consuming to achieve, and something you'll probably have to get just playing the game naturally and after tons of dailies and dungeons. I don't even have 1,000 yet.

I'm close to 25k, so I'm carefully monitoring it second by second, really got my mind on my money.
I noticed a serious bug, if you get disconnected (crash etc) you loose some of what you have earned recently. It happened 2 times so I'm sure of this, the mechanic is different of what you have in your bag thoo, you don't loose the real golds. it remind me of the time when they were having problems with the satistics and the stress it was putting on the server, it seems that they transfered it on the client side, and it's only updating to the server once in a while. That's why lets say you loot 30g on a boss, you get disconnected it will get erased from this achievement even if you still keep the 30g in your bag.

Actually, the by far easiest way is to do the Argent Tournament champion dailies. the money bags count aswell, so that would make 40g+ a day.

And you could raid beside the dailies, aswell, ofc...

You do not have to loot all of the money from mobs. Bags or containers that you receive from quests or mobs that contain money count towards this achievement too. This includes:

- Fishing Treasure bags
- 10g extra from the Champion's Purse for completing ATournament dailies
- Bag of Spoils from Sartharion

and more.

Best way to get this is just to run a bunch of instances. The less people in your group when you loot a mob, the more money each person will get. So if you have some well-geared (25man Naxx geared or better) you can probably easily 4-man some heroics. As mentioned above, 2-manning world raid bosses such as Kazzak and Doomwalker can give you a fair bit of dough, though they have extra-long respawn times.

I don't know why no one has posted this yet, but absolutely the best place to do this achivement (if you're seriously thinking about grinding it) is 37, 71 in Icecrown. This is the location of Destroying the Altars. The mobs here (except for the "boss") are all level 80, and give appropriate amounts of gold, but they have 3k HP, and a really fast respawn time. AoE, loot, lather, rinse, repeat. Easily able to get 20 gold within 10 min.

If you're killing northrend rares for your Frostbitten achievement you'll be able to loot quite a bit of gold for this achievement as well, ~20g per satchel (every rare drops one).

I've taken this achievement today by looting +-20g contained in Abandoned Adventurer's Satchel from all rare mobs in Northrend. If you want to loot 25000g, you simply have to know locations of all rare mobs and resskill them:D Silverdragon is good addon to find rares and controlling when they died, so you know how long it will take to respawn.
(But other players don't like this method much:D)

most of "collecting" achievements come with a reward with an additional thing of that kind. (mounts achiv give mounts, tabard achivs give tabards, pet achivs give pets, etc)

then i'd like to say that this achivevement should be giving gold when attained! ^^

Soloing Doomwalker is a great way to get this achievement. However, for those of you incapable of doing this (as it can be quite hard), you could always get the second person to leave group and just hand them the gold afterward.

As of Dec 20th 2009 I reached my own personal goal of 100,000 gold looted(WTB an achievement with a title for this amount :D! lol). Today's screen shot is dated 1/06/2010 so its past that amount, but as you can see I do indeed have 100,000 gold looted ^.^!

To maybe help out those that are looking to do this achievement and beyond. Basicly it started out just being a AQ20/ZG/Azuregoes and Ony solo, which soon started me doing all four world dragons. This in turn lead to Molten Core, BWL and now Karazhan and Doomwalker. Even by simply going at them in a duo could yield the 25k achievement very fast, as well as I am a raider and do gain ''some'' not much gold from that and killing those bosses. Now I'm in no way an achievement @(&!# but this just so happens to go along with the thing I do very much enjoy and thats seeing and pushing my character to its maximum soloing potential.
